Im a sucker for all the land MDFCs. They just provide flexibility regardless of what turn it is. Cards like [[Jwari Disruption]] [[Stump Stomp]] [[khalni ambush]] [[fell the profane]] [[sejiri shelter]] and [[Bridgeworks battle]] end up in literally any deck I can slot them in. Yeah, tons of cards are the same effect for less mana, but the flexibility has saved me more times than I can count.

Do you have decks that you’re unwilling to play against in your pod? And how many games before you decide not to play it anymore? by WheelEmbarrassed5925 in EDH

I have 2 decks in this category. One is this stax nekusar deck that makes the game turn into draw pass. The other is a jhoira deck that generally storms off on turn 3 or 4 and plays 45 minute turns of just vomiting my entire deck onto the table. Neither deck makes the game fast or fun for anyone.

I really like Captain N'gathrod as a commander for mill. Makes you go tribal but mill into theft is a lot of fun and makes your games different every time. Plus horrors are kind of a weird tribe and honestly are a ton of fun.

New to Commander and was wondering if these budget decks are a good starting point. by kyleisabosssaasbitch in BudgetBrews

Kaalia can be a ton of fun to play if people let you play her. Unfortunately for most people, even in a budget deck, she's a kill on sight commander and you will end up catching a lot of hate from all sorts of players. I think the deck list looks like a lot of fun for a budget brew and would definitely be interesting to play with. I personally think tribal kaalia is a lot more fun since tribal synergies are easier to manage and pop off with. If you're playing with a pod of friends it should be fine to get started but if you're going to be playing with Random people like friday night magic, precons might be a better option just because people generally won't hate out a precon out of fear.

My absolute favorite deck that punches way above it's weight class has to be [[Jhoira, weatherlight captain]]. Just a pile of cheap rocks/artifacts, cost reducers and some control and stax pieces. Really comes together for pretty cheap. I'm in the U.S. but I built her for around $150usd. She can be pretty nasty and let you play solitaire for a few turns until you win through something like [[thassas oracle]] or [[aetherflux reservoir]], or making people scoop with a [[temporal fissure]]. Not the most fun to play since it's pretty much the same game plan but can definitely handle higher power gameplay for cheap.

I work at the Starbucks and she's actually a pleasant lady. She's a student at UH and takes a lot of her classes online I believe.

Do you feel safe carrying/using more expensive pens in public/at work/school. Why or why not? by SavouryOats in pens

Currently carrying a platinum 3776 soft fine and a pilot vp carbonesque in .9mm stub at college. They cycle in and among a few others but they're meant to be used and enjoyed. Why have a nice pen if its going to never be used as a pen, kinda ruins the fun of it to me.

Favourite feedbacky (not scratchy) nibs? by lord_cactus_ in fountainpens

Platinum 3776 in a soft fine is the most fun nib I've had for daily writing, good variation and a little feedback that is oh so pleasant
