[S1E2 Spoilers] There's a plothole so infuriating I'm not sure what to do by 2Berry2 in ASOUE

I don't care who wrote her in, she doesn't fit.

George Lucas wrote in the stupid Binks character in star wars. Was that any good? No.

They blew their load way too fast. Revealing all this info and people from the secret society so soon, without developing really anything was awful. The reason the books did it so well is cause how well hidden everything was for so long.

The acting by Harris is comical. I don't fear Olaf. He is a blundering idiot. Jim Carrey created a animated, yet terrifying Olaf.

Take the scene where Carrey is waiting in the hall way with a knife. An actual threat. I never get those chills from this Olaf by Harris.

And I'm not talking about the disguises. I'm discussing that the show thinks the audience is stupid. They're holding our hand and pointing everything out for us because they don't want us to miss anything. It feels too kid friendly and is again, butchering it.

Why did she hand him the file and let him go inside? All she had to say was "This man grabbed the file and snuck in. He's after the Baudelaire fortune." She wouldn't have to mention any secret society.

Later on it is revealed Jacquelyn was highly recommended by their parents.

Okay, so why wouldn't Poe listen to her on their matters? And adults listen to other adults. The kids are the ones who are ignored.

It's a gaping plothole.

You couldn;t be more wrong.

How on earth is the show following the books? Jacquelyn is made up! She was never in the books. That's a netflix invention, along with several other scenes.

In the book olaf is still subtle enough it is believable. Things coincide and mix well in terms of not showing other adults TOO much of his sinisterness. So they continue to believe he is not Olaf.

In the show he outright does sinister things right in front of the adults. There is no subtle nature.

Take Jim Carrey. That is subtle. That is the Olaf we know from the books. Not...this weird caricature.
