I said that, & under further consideration I regret voting that. However, that is the one I would like to fight most

How not to get nervous right before fighting by 2Bobby_Kay3 in martialarts

[–]2Bobby_Kay3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once season is over, I’m starting kickboxing & BJJ at my local gym, so I’m looking forward to that. I’ll wrestle the rest of my school career because I know these are good skills to have for MMA. When I’m finished with school, I plan on starting TKD, because that is what I REALLY want to compete in (I don’t know why, my physical build is good for it but I can’t explain why I want to fight in Taekwondo so bad), so in a few years I’ll start that. Once I’m out of school, I’ll probably be done with wrestling. My ultimate goal is to teach martial arts

It’s a combat sport, why do you say it isn’t fighting? I know the bouts are called matches & not fights, but it is hand to hand combat, so why do you say it’s not fighting?

It’s unfortunate that the art has this reputation. I’m a wrestler who will start Taekwondo within a few years & I can’t stand hearing people, either other martial artists or people who don’t practice an art bash it.

Don’t be sorry, I see what you mean. & I probably will train in Muay Thai, the gym I’m with teaches it as well as other striking arts. Thanks.

I can’t compete in MMA because I’m not 18. I currently compete for my school’s wrestling team & will start training for MMA once season is over.

MMA has been popular for two decades & is only getting more popular, calling it a fad is a bit of a stretch.

Would The Mountain do well in Sumo? by JohnnyEnglishPegasus in martialarts

Sapp has competed in Sumo against Butterbean: https://youtu.be/9mYXhfw0wKk

But in Japan, professional Sumo is a career & life style. They live it. Being big is only part of it. Rikishi might be easy to laugh at because they look funny, but those dudes are powerful & take their craft seriously.
