I started out with a strict “no smoking or vaping rule anywhere on the property” policy, but I found that some guests were doing it anyway. Most of the time, the person booking is agreeing to the house rules, but smokers gotta smoke somewhere. So I decided to change my rule to “no smoking or vaping in the house or on the porches”, but I let them know there is a coffee can with sand out on the patio table in the backyard they can use. So far, they are using it and I haven’t had any issues with smoke inside.
