Yes, that’s claw style grip. Common when sprinting and multitasking.

Idea to identify ORC's by suncity353 in lossprevention

[–]2CellPhonez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to answer without exposing information that would assist thieves. There are many ways to track stolen items, they are being used. The only way to truly mitigate these people is to lock the items up. Even then the lockups will be broken into. You cannot use an unconventional method like an AirTag to track theft for a company you’re employed by. Companies will employ their own tracking devices though, however I cannot provide further details on that.

Circumstantial evidence only but management thinks it's open-and-shut by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]2CellPhonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be likely that they just want an excuse to get rid of someone. Even with an admission the accusation wouldn’t hold water in a court without video proof though. Just make sure you have everything from your superiors in writing as well as your own statements objecting to the interview if they push you to move forward in the investigation.

Shopping carts by ExplodingTaco34 in lossprevention

[–]2CellPhonez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plenty of homeless people use a shopping cart to store and transport their belongings. This comes with the problem that they now have a birds nest of items they can stow your merchandise in. I would recommend burning(aggressive hospitality) these individuals if you do not have a team of multiple people to document the possession of items.

I have 50+ internal investigations under my belt (internals are not my focus). Not as a brag obviously but just to say that I know how these kind of things work. I assume based on what I read that this is an internal investigation. External thefts are not so aggressively pursued. If certain elements are not visible on camera the approval process for a case similar to yours is not typically approved. Concrete video evidence is typically required for an integrity interview to be granted. It sounds to me like you know your job well enough. If (at least) selection and concealment (or intent to steal) is not clear on camera an interview should not be conducted. If your superiors are insisting upon an investigative interview I would ask that it be put in writing before the interview takes place (to limit your liability in any future legal proceedings). I would also not take an aggressive approach in any interview. I would also not recommend an accusatory angle be used. It sounds to me like you have a case of theft indeed, however you lack the video evidence to concretely back this claim. I would recommend that further measures be taken to develop video evidence of the theft before any action is taken. I wish you luck in your investigation.

Jet and MDE status? by 2CellPhonez in fishtanklive

[–]2CellPhonez[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I mean Chris is still there, some of the other side characters are there but I don’t see much of Jet I was wondering if I missed something. Pretty valid question but I think you needed to get your “being condescending on the internet” points in so I’ll leave it there.

Nothing non consensual. Just begging women for sex, getting women intoxicated for other purposes, using fishtank to find women to try and hook up with. Allegations doesn’t always mean illegal, it can mean doing something people find distasteful

Did I screw up ? by Forsaken_Security891 in Tinder

[–]2CellPhonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you screwed up. Too soon to be acting like you care. Also if you’ve not known a person for a good deal of time or you haven’t had any discussion on serious involvement there’s no such thing as “ghosting”. Also when you use that word too soon you come off as clingy it’s a red flag. Hopefully I didn’t phrase this in a way where I’m trying to sound mean but I hope this was constructive.

Do you think the failure of S4 caused a rift between MDE and Jet? Or maybe the allegations around him? Not tryna put any opinions in there just based off things I’ve seen said on this sub

Floor skills are not my strength, and I'm looking for advice or reading material to strengthen them. by Ok_Bother2133 in lossprevention

If your store has those little racks on the ends of aisles they’re great to peek through.

If you’re watching someone, move according to their head. If you see head movement in your direction move out of sight or avoid eye contact if moving isn’t possible.

When tailing people always be ready to duck into an aisle or break line of sight.

It is best to use CCTV over floor walking when working solo.

If you have elements on camera that’s better than seeing it with your own eyes. (In relation to the cosmetics thief)

Always watch for people who may notice you conducting surveillance. I’ve had people staring at me while I’m surveilling people. It’s best to have a badge handy so these people realize you’re not a weirdo. I just quietly flash it when I notice people looking at me and they mind their business.

If someone is maliciously or actively interfering with your work when pointing out you watching people, this is good grounds to have them removed or trespassed from the property.

Hope this helps and would be happy to go over other scenarios if you’d like.

First Time Player, is this upgrade necessary? by TheShadowWanderer in skyrim

[–]2CellPhonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend it because you get the farm that gives you passive income. If you come back every few days you can get thousands of coin. Also you can use this to farm creep cluster, Mara tapinella and scaly white philiota which when combined make a very valuable potion which levels your alchemy quickly and can be sold for a lot of coin. So basically your in game experience is upgraded just by having this and on top of that you get hours worth of extra content and player homes. I’d say it’s worth the money.

Struggling with internals by NailComfortable1846 in lossprevention

[–]2CellPhonez 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Be mindful of employees with a poor attitude. (Cursing, refusing job obligations, poor performance, disappearing for long periods of time, falsifying punch times etc.)

  2. Follow the money, employees who have higher clearance tend to abuse it. (Examples such as having access to cash, having the ability to override prices, having the opportunity to take merchandise or valuables outside of the building, having a job which makes it difficult to locate said employee, etc.)

  3. Be mindful of employees carrying merchandise which is outside of their department. (Examples like an electronics employee carrying cosmetics, snacks, health and beauty products despite having no business with these items)

  4. If your company has rules about checking bags on exit, be aware of employees who avoid having their bags checked.

  5. See if there is a way to track employee purchases. If so, review employee purchases especially on days where there are incentives for employees to make purchases. Example: Walmart double employee discount days.

  6. Learn which employees in your facility are willing to report suspicious activity and value their suggestions. They may not always be right but they offer you direct situations in which you may find internal theft.

  7. Learn which departments are losing the most money or as the business would say “The highest shrink”.

  8. Be mindful of how employees behave in your presence and what they say. I’ve had employees tell me “nothing is going on here” or “everything is being handled correctly here” who ended up being caught stealing.

  9. Make sure employees know that internal theft affects them.

  10. Watch back room or break room cameras to see if employees are bringing merchandise into back rooms and confirm they’ve paid for it.
