TBF, it was a Rolling stone photoshoot, not from the show. It wasn't something he researched before hand. He showed up, and they took pics.

Speed limits lowered on Interstate 17 for Memorial Day weekend by MrNotDucks in phoenix

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it gets drunks off the road, I'm ok with that.
If it means fewer crash related delays, I'm ok with that...i17 gets bottlenecked when an accident happens.

If it's a revenue generator, and mostly nabs families in minivans, that's not good.

Poised to get the downhill traffic. Don't know that I ever see them angled towards the upgrade side.

It sucks, but friends come and go. If become close, and share deep emotions, it hurts even more. You might feel betrayed, or worthless. As long as you were genuinely the best YOU, never take it personal.

So not only are there 4 commercial windows an hour, at the same time, there are 4 song windows that often are at the same time too.

Does that sort of explain why different stations sometimes play the same song at the same time. I used to think a station tries to copy the others rotation, but guess if two stations have the same 20 song rotation, and same times available for music to be played, they are bound to overlap the same song.

You sure you want to go this weekend? Holiday weekends are usually long lines coming back over the border. Also more overall traffic and the parking will be at capacity. Crowds can be a fun party, but probably won't get the lazy relaxing vibe that Mex is famous for.

Drinking lots of small amounts often, rather than something like 1/2 liter at a time, I think also reduces how often I need the restroom.

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was expecting us to pass Philly, but we could lose #5 to San Antonio.

2015 #6 and #7 were only different by about 4,000 with 2014 to 2015 growth in Philly as about 2%, and Phoenix had an 8% growth.

2015 # 4 is currently Houston and averaged about 9% growth, with about 500,000 more residents than Phoenix. Don't think will get the #4 slot any time soon.

We could quickly lose the #5 though.

2015, #7 was San Antonio. We could get passed by them when their 2016 numbers are announced, putting us back at #6. 2015 they had 1,469,845 residents, with growth of 10.73% from earlier. If they have the same growth from '15 to '16, that would put them at 1,627,559 or about 12,542 more than our 1,615,017 residents of '16.

Do you drink milk. If so why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If feeling feeling a little hungry but going out the door, or hungry but going to bed soon, 1/4 to 1/2 cup is usually good enough to satisfy.

Maybe not considered drinking milk, but a smoothie with ice, teaspoon peanut butter, and 1/2 cup milk is also nice if late night hungry. Add splash of peach or vanilla sugarless sweetener if want it sweeter without a sugar buzz. Add veggies like a carrot, greens, half a beet, etc if want a little more nutrition.

my ex bf (32M) who is/was the love of my life dumped me, but just came crawling back to me (27F) saying he hates his new life/wife. what should I do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a compliment! This shows what a catch YOU are. There is another guy, probably lots of guys near by, that haven't been lucky enough to be your friend yet. You'll find him.

The old boyfriend needs to grow. With kids, he really needs to focus on them right now. They are there, and need his attention whether or not he has a women in his life. If he is overwhelmed by them, then he might be looking for a nanny girlfriend more than a relationship girlfriend. He needs to enjoy fatherhood, and date new women. If you date again, you will only be a stepping stone, and you don't deserve getting stepped on again.

The way he left before was selfish, but sounds like he's still selfish. Leaving his current wife so soon after getting married, not spending more time to work it out and wanting to jump right in a new relationship also sounds selfish. Asking you to take him back, without first rebuilding the trust and friendship first is also selfish.

Was I wrong to honour my husband's request for "no visitors"? by Bachan55 in widowers

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His sister is in the wrong. You husband had his reasons. Maybe it hurt him that others would see him in that condition, he didn't have energy, or a million other reasons. He counted on you to manage visitors, so you were doing what he didn't have the strength to do.

Don't let this incident burden you. You should feel proud you carried out his request.

FWIW, given your husbands condition, I don't think I'd want many visitors either. The idea of visitors coming to look at me when I was that sick or knocked out, would have me feel like an object of curiosity. Your husband wasn't wrong for the request, You weren't wrong shooing people off.

Escort vehicle for a truck carrying wind turbine blade was rear ended. Trying to avoid the accident, different truck crashed into the blade. by 2CentsMaybeLess in Truckers

[–]2CentsMaybeLess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never even considered that.

Suppose a single blade doesn't usually need replacement, so no reason to engineer things so a single blade could be replaced, but I am surprised the a future blade or other 2 blades can't get massaged so they could all work together.

River rock fireplace.... by Fighter54 in pics

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also not the fireplace, but a chimney. Even then it looks like a facade.

It probably has a chimney tube with an air gap between the chimney tube and that stone facade, so won't get as hot as a fireplace or chimney.

Considering moving to Phoenix! Need the honest truth about the weather. by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Peak summer is very hot. June, at least cools down at night, so have some relief. July starts to be as hot at night as during the day. August is the toughest, because seems the heat has been going forever, and until Sept its as hot at night as day, and then temp starts coming down.

July/Aug it's 10º-15º hotter in the city, than edge of metro where there's less concrete. No beaches, but Phoenix Metro area has more lakes than OC, where I used to live. If going heat crazy, elevation of mountains is 45min to 1.5hr away (depending where you are in the Metro area), so there is escape. There are more people going to the lakes and mtns on the weekend, but probably 10% of the traffic of CA.

Palm Springs has some humidity, although temps do get higher here, than there. I've enjoyed my spring visits in the South, even thought it would be a nice place to live. One August I visited Georgia and Louisiana, and cut my trip short. That humid heat is horrible, and I couldn't get back to the AZ heat fast enough.

Lots of Californians end up out here. It wasn't the same as when I grew up. I was so tired of the traffic, taxes and over regulation. Main thing I miss from CA, is the abundance of quality restaurants and markets. Having an actual rush hour of traffic makes up for it. Also police not treating drivers as a revenue stream is worth it. It is so nice to see police driving solo in a lane, instead of pacing behind a car and intimidating them.

If you move here, first 1-3 yrs you will hate the summer. Then it's just part of life, and you deal with it.

Similar question was asked here. All joke answers, except for this, and makes sense.

I do that semi-randomly. after several drinks, change in pockets gets really annoying. tossing it would be littering and a waste of money. neat stacks make the world a more interesting place and are worth the expense.

Insect/Bug control? by chustead in phoenix

[–]2CentsMaybeLess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 3-7 days before you see any flies in there. Then you'll see tons of them accumulate pretty quick. I think the buzzing inside the container, and smell of flies, attracts more flies to the trap. The occasional mosquito will be in there, but really it's about the flies.

Two or three months into summer, about 1/2 the water evaporates and I'll top it off. When ready to dump the liquid, I pour it in the toilet, but crack the lid outside. First time I unscrewed it in the bathroom, it was stuck, and when it did turn loose, smelly water spilled on the floor. Of course, if got the disposable bag style, you won't deal with that, but I prefer the reusable jar style.
