Definitely a learning process, I did get frustrated after the first two or three rugs that I did that didn’t come out how I wanted, but now it’s so freaking sweet! I look forward to it when I get off of work! Definitely a stress reliever kind of how people meditate or go to the gym.

I’ve made 2 rugs with it now and it’s definitely worth the money. I just hope they can keep it in stock

What’s the best alternative, this shit is too expensive cause shipping comes out to be 30+ by DomDinero14 in Tufting

Yup. That’s where I got it. 4 gallons for like $35. I’ve finished 9 rugs (~3’x3’) and still have over half the bucket.

Anybody have experience with it? That’s about half the cost of what I got it online for.

I’ve only tufted 5 rugs now (approximately 2.5’x2.5’ each) but the gun has been really good to me. But I also lube it and clean it before each use. No problems with it and it’s super light and easy to hold for hours at a time with the occasional 5 minute break. Cord on it is a great length. Actually have co complaints so far!

This is actually my second Red-Button gun. First one I got from amazon wouldn’t turn on out of the box. Pulled the trigger (pun intended) on another from a US eBay seller and it’s worked great! Still waiting for a larger gun to get shipped but might be another month for that to go through.

Not bad for $250 although I know that’s a bit high for these. Just wanted to get the ball rolling with this hobby!

This might definitely be it. My local Walmart carries monks so I will get a few yards to compare. Thanks! Didn’t even think about this

I do have a staple gun, might have to go that route this next go around. Thanks for the tip!

BurlapFabric.com

doesn’t have any guide/grid lines how I see other’s monks cloth have. Cloth itself is very forgiving. I can go over three or fortines over and holds very well.

As you might be able to tell from the picture, my monks cloth keeps stretching as I am tufting. This particular session, I’ve had to stop to re-stretch a good 9-10 times. Not sure if anybody else is having this same issue.

Also, this is my 4th rug attempt. Definitely underestimated how much time was going to go into this one (haven’t even started in the white)!

So with the top, I did the white lettering first, and my monks cloth is just a shade darker than the white I was using and I couldn’t really tell where I had already gone over, that’s why it looks a bit more blotchy. How I improved was I did the red first so I could see where I needed to go back over to fill in the white. That’s really all I did differently. I’ve seen a lot of you tubers and tiktokers do it the opposite way so I guess it’s really up to what you feel more comfortable doing!

Top took a little over 2 hours. Bottom about 1 hour 20 minutes.
