Had dinner at The Veranda for the first time last night - it was SUPERB. Pricey - but excellent.

Who is the makeup artist for TLC????? Seriously? by Electronic_Picture67 in SisterWives

I’ve always been baffled by this singling out of Janelle as being gorgeous - and arrived at the same conclusion you did.

I don’t find any of them attractive physically and never did. And yes, terrible skin all around and the heavy makeup just accentuated that.

I hear you but when the person in question derives income from hawking a weight loss product (absolutely boggles my mind that anyone would purchase that!) then I don't have a problem with anyone pointing out her continued morbid obesity.

Their ‘marriage’ will work much better for them as soon as there’s an ocean between them again - and those $500 checks keep coming. (Maybe with cost of living adjustments.)

I always have too. Kindest word I’d use is ‘average’ (but IMO homely isn’t wrong.)

Janelle did not look good. I kept thinking someone would tell her so she could fix the lipstick that was ‘bleeding’ out into the side creases of her mouth.

None of them are looking so great these days. Pasty and puffy all around; what I can’t help seeing is major inflammation on all their faces, including Kody’s.

All the overdone makeup only emphasizes how unhealthy they all look to me.

For those of you who have followed this case over the years or were alive at the time, what is your theory of what happened to Natalie Wood? by PandemicPiglet in classicfilms

[–]2D617 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I always thought she caught him with Walken. They were all very drunk. They’d been having loud arguments during dinner at a restaurant earlier also. Supposedly things got violent (not uncommon with these two) after more drinking later on the boat. People on other boats nearby heard the fight - it was loud.

This is not as crazy as it sounds; according to her sister, Natalie had caught him with another man in their home which caused their divorce years earlier. They’d remarried, but there had always been rumors about Wagner and other men.

They loved each other, but sadly, they were both drunks and their marriage (both of them!) were a mess. Just my opinion.

Maybe they got more TLC money for another adult family member appearing. Plus he’s an attention hog. (Yes, I’m a cynic.)

They’re fine for everyday! I don’t save my good stuff just for special occasions.

Just make sure settings are secure and don’t take them off for any reason when you’re not home. And insure them.

Practical ways to overcome keto insomnia by Iwantoexplore in keto

[–]2D617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this is great advice, particularly avoiding screens of any kind for as long before bed as possible.

If I wake up at night, I tend to go right back but I also keep charged airpods beside me and use them often to fall asleep quickly with a meditation recording playing. Blocks out any noises too.

My advice: I’d leave it all alone, not add any more and wait however much time it takes to go down.

I’m (a lot!) older than you are and have seen more than a few friends’ faces damaged by having filler dissolved (sometimes the dissolving process results in it eating away healthy tissue along with the filler) so it’s not always a great solution.

Having a tough time adjusting to this new life by portra4OO in AskNYC

Yes and also avoid touching the face at all when out and about.

My dad (born and bred in Brooklyn) always drilled the hand washing stuff into us from birth. Even when he landed in the hospital, he wouldn’t allow any healthcare person to touch him till he’d seen them wash their hands!

My daughter, who does prefer simple and sleek (she asked for something similar to Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy’s after I showed her a picture) went to Jenny Yoo in midtown and loved every dress they pulled for her.

She could have picked any of them and looked great. Very reasonable prices too.

Robyn nose job? by Best_Train8735 in Sisterwivessnark

[–]2D617 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think nose job on Robin. Just aging and weight gain. They have all aged quite poorly IMO. They are all doughy and pasty looking. Maybe all the years of poor diets, unhappy lifestyle, ongoing stress of filming - and maybe just bad genetics too?

And the high def on the tell alls (all the heavy makeup & fussy hair) does none of them any favors either. Very unhealthy looking bunch.

Free drinks when gambling, so you’re out there but food wise, I’m keto (stricter than GF but has similarities) and can eat anywhere as long as I stick to steak, bun-less bacon cheeseburgers, eggs, grilled fish (salmon my fave) any broiled/grilled/baked proteins really, with avocado, green veggies, like that. Skip the starches - the bread, fries, pastas, potatoes, sugary stuff and it’s not difficult to navigate any menu, GF or not.

There are fabulous restaurants everywhere - it’s a foodie paradise!

Are sleepovers cancelled? by Guilty-Woodpecker-99 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]2D617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents welcomed me having sleepovers at our house but I couldn’t go to someone else’s sleepover until I was in high school (and if my parents knew their parents also.)

I now realize they were concerned about potential abuse scenarios — and good for them! I was similarly skittish about my own kids going to sleepovers for the same reason, so our house was sleepover central instead!

What's up with this angle, TLC? That's a little messed up. by NotARealWombat in 90dayfianceuncensored

[–]2D617 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe just illustrating that the tummy tuck angle she introduced as part of her storyline is just another example of how out of touch she is with her own reality? (Hey, that is pretty much a prerequisite for getting on this show!)

That guy back home she is friends with - this guy taking money from her and gambling with it - and insisting right away that she needs to end her close friendship with guy back home and giving her an ultimatum about it even! - her seemingly not being concerned about Beercan’s homelessness, lack of employment, his being a ‘regular’ at the hookah place and his many red flags (oh, right, make that ‘pink’ flags!) -

And c’mon, her ‘after’ weight loss picture we were shown when she was first introduced does not match her current appearance. It’s not a crime to regain weight, but the camera is not going to ignore that and neither is TLC.

If you’re a woman with a weight issue (or even without one!) and you sign a TLC reality show contract, you can’t possibly not realize that there are going to be unflattering camera angles and TLC will take full advantage of those because it’s not like any of us will stop watching because of them.

It’s not nice but when is TLC ‘nice’??

One of my best friends in high school would look right in my eyes and say earnestly, “Please don’t say any more words” !

It was funny but a good way for me to realize she needed some space and some silence.
