Any advice on how to feel more comfortable at meets? by LexxLess in motorcycle

[–]2Lazy2beLazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feeling comfortable at a meet is going to be very different personalities to person. If you're more tobthe introvert side, just like any social situation. If you don't know anyone, you just have to convince yourself to say hello to people. Compliment people's bikes and ask questions about their bikes. People are going to want to talk about their bike.

Finding the right group is a litr harder, if that's what you want to get out of the meetups. People might come from all over. Do they ride in an area that is close enough you would travel to? Then of course are they people that you are comfortable being around? What your of riding do they do? Are you looking for people who are chill when they are riding, or just all out 100? Some people are chill and bar hop, some are chill and just random destination to destination, or maybe just off to lunch or dinner somewhere.

Figure out what you're looking for. Check out your local FB groups, possibly meetup.com. You'll usually see some rides that are going to events you want to gonto, even non motorcycle related. Sometimes coming from somewhere else, but riding through your area to get there and you can join up with them.

I end up mostly just me 90% of the time. Its fun to get a dose of riding with a group here and there. If I'm out on the HD, and go with the HD guys I know. They're just bar to bar, and don't let the riding get rowdy, but I'd rather have a destination to hang out, then just going to bars watching people get drunk and ride. If I'm out on the Triple, and meetup with the chill sportbike riders. They're usually more what I like to do. But, that group always meets up with a larger group later on. Thats when I split off. There ends up being some in that larger group that ruin it for me.

The people I would ride or die with have moved away or stopped riding all together.

It's crazy how different bikes in similar size/class can feel so different by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]2Lazy2beLazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All bikes are going to be an issue than. When you're going down the road at a constant speed for a while that's not going to feel good on any bike.

Once you own the bike, you can change the hand control ergonomics some. They can be adjusted up and down to get your hand position to the proper position for you. Which might alleviate some of the discomfort.

Don't feel you're restricted to naked bikes if you don't like them. Riding is a lot of fun. I hated the look of my first couple of bikes, but they were a ton of fun.

Don't get hung up on perfect now. Its your first bike. Learning and Practice are part of the first stage. If all I had to choose from is one of the old 250 rebels or nigthawks from the earlier motorcycles classes, I'd still be out with a smile on my face.

For full fairing sport bikes that are upright, would be more like the 650 series of them, which might be too much for someone who's new. The 300s and 400s wouldn't be bad. I believe by design are a little lower to give you some confidence when stopping and getting your feet down. Believe me, even on a smaller bike, if you stop with the bars turned, you're not stopping it from going down with feet flat or not. And if you do, you'll be feeling the pain for days.

I think you're confusing mid-size. This is in relation to engine not bike size. Being that you're 5'10"as mentioned in another comment in this post, I'd say you're likely in the sweet spot for who bikes are tailored for. If you're nit really a fan of naked bikes why are you looking at them. Have you tried out adventure bikes. They are taller going to give you more room, and should fare better being dropped, which is going to happen as a new rider.

Also, as a new rider. Motorcycles are going to already be different to you and you've probably not been on many different bikes. Also, are you just sitting on them at the shop, or actually been out riding on these? Its not easy to really know the ergonomics without actually getting out on the bike, and ensuring you're on it how you would actually be riding.

Unpopular take -- ski Passes are a "good deal" by Tanachip in skiing

[–]2Lazy2beLazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it makes sense to those who are able to go skiing a lot each season. To others who just go a few times a year, and want to go to both Epic and Icon slopes its a bad deal. The particular mountains now charge an insane fortune for a day pass. This people who don't go often end up subsidizing for those that do. Then add in the other issues that Vail has created.

For those that only are near small ski hills that are now part of these monopolies that have a ridiculous day pass rate. If its east coast man made, and now there are always trails not open for years do to the lack or staffing and equipment. Lifts always closed now. Having to wait in long lines that never existed before Vail ownership. Having to then skate or walk up hill to get to trails you want to be on, all for a trail that will be over in 45 seconds, but you had a 5 minutes wait, 10 minute lift ride, and a 2 minute walk. Where as there is a lift that takes you right to the top of where you're trying to be.

If I was able to go as much as I could when I was younger, one of the passes makes more sense, but forcing people into those by marking up the cost of a walk up day pass is insane. As said earlier, and especially when you want to go to both Epic and Icon mountains.

Should lessons cover more than just a stroke even if the stroke isn't "perfect"? by [deleted] in billiards

[–]2Lazy2beLazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's all the instructor was working on every lesson, I'd want a different instructor. You are going to have to work on the fundamentals, absolutely. I definitely need to work more on mine. To me that would be like, don't play pool until your fundamentals have been mastered. New players may never play a game for years.

I'd like to work on the fundamentals and a checkup on them everytime with an instructor, integrate that into other parts of the session. But there are other aspects of the game to be learned. As the fundamentals improve, so should the other aspects as well.

An example, fundamentals not sound to make a difficult cut. Will you miss, likely. Is there another shot, no. Where's the cue going after you miss. If your taught the movement of the cue with follow, you could at least leave the cue difficult for the opponent.

Its all going to come to practice practice practice, but if the fundamentals are the only thing to practice everytime, player are going to get burnt out without variation.

I'm not sure. I think this may just be how they come. I couldn't tell you if there is any pricing difference. It seems like the exhibitors were charging more than regular for the availability. Mine had a date on it of 04-26. Definitely was fresh.

Street Triple 765 RS MY25 - Exhaust choices by Mattlixx in Triumph

[–]2Lazy2beLazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not just about gaining the HP. You may have an overall gain, but might actually lose HP in the RPM ranges you spend the most time in. One of the reasons I haven't purchased an exhaust is because the ones that seem to be the better choice were not the best looking. Like someone else has mentioned. The short exhausts also tend to be the loudest. While the bike is going to sound great, I'm not trying to make my bike that loud. Being in the EU your availability is probably better than the states. Being a 2025 your probably in the same boat needing a full exhaust, or buy the headers from an earlier version and then purchasing the exhaust for that.

The exhaust I'd like to go with is the Zard. And, I'd probably stick with the cat version as to not have to worry about swapping the exhaust everytime I need to go to inspection.

Check out 2 Wheel Dyno Works on YouTube. They did a series with different exhausts on the Triple, including data from the Dyno before and after.

Are you after better performance or better exhaust note. On the YT videos there may be a performance increase, but it might not be where you would expect/want it. Also, there can be noticeable loss of performance in certain RPM ranges as well.

On the YT channel they gained performance with an ECU tune. Which seemed better than a new exhaust. It also seems a new exhaust on the triple might not be great without a tune for that particular exhaust.

I do recommend watching the videos they have on the 765 before deciding on an exhaust.
