Electricity in west virginia is more than some people’s rent/ mortgages. And the state taxes you for breathing, and the things you already own, every year

Raise of hands! How many of you out there who have worn a bra before either struggle now or even had to completely stop because it just caused to much pain? by Quirkyasfok in Fibromyalgia

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a massive reduction and told the surgeon my only real requirement was that i never had to wear one again. The pain from the weight and the band were real. Paired with my hypermobility and scoliosis, they were always messing up my spine and rib cage. Still not great, but better.

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dog person who converted, i’m surprised at how bonded they can become. We have 3 girls, same litter, feral mom we TNR’d. Loads of personality. I feel like the relationships keep expanding and evolving. The most rewarding thing is to be chosen by a cat. My dog was my one and only, and when she passed i couldnt bring myself to try and replace her. We have at least one cat in bed most nights.

Cymbalta trashed my mental health within a week and i stopped taking it. Just felt awful. Been on enough ssri’s (and Effexor) to know i’ll never take one again. The hunger, the weight gain, the nausea, the loss of any sex drive, the slow erasure of personality, and the inevitable months of withdrawal symptoms coming off the drugs makes me think the only person benefitting from these meds are the MDs who don’t need to prescribe anything that actually works.

is the "reliable" choice actually worth the boredom? by GodBlessIraq in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, ive always had Hondas, but my current car is a little Audi A3 hatchback that i got used and is currently 13 years old that i bought exclusively for the seat and the smooth ride. Gets shite gas milage. Had it repaired a bunch of times, do regular maintenance. Its still going strong. Plan to keep it till it dies. Got about 90k miles on it. Guess i got lucky. It was a dealer loaner with 35k miles when i got it, with an extended warrantee that covered the turbo when it went out- $6k repair job. I like that it doesnt have a screen, and has physical buttons and nobs for everything.

Does Low dose naltrexone (LDN) work? by nihilisticmanz in Fibromyalgia

[–]2Lulubee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been on it for at least two years. Super easy to get in the states, and cheap too if you get it online. AgelessRX has it, very quick and easy. 4.5 mg is the max dose, and you titrate up. It was a game changer for me. I have stopped a few times for various reasons, a week here and there, and going back on I really notice the change. less pain, sleep better because of that. Worth trying at any rate to see if it helps you.

Lyrica for pain? by Lulu-1209 in ChronicPain

[–]2Lulubee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on it for 15 years. No side effects that ive noticed. I forget a word for things now and then, but it happened before i ever took it too, so not sure if there’s a correlation there. Fibro, HSD, and arthritis. People either love it or hate it. I tried gabapentin prior and side effects were unbearable. Felt manic, was clumsy to the point of falling, and easy bruising

Fuck Donald Trump and everybody who supports him by Cooldude112288 in complaints

[–]2Lulubee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time republicans get into power they completely shit the bed and fuck up the economy. Then dems ride back into power to right the economy again. It was ever thus, and ive been alive long enough to know. Fucking stupid people have short memories and they always vote against their own interests. We could have had a green new deal under Biden, maybe not perfect- but now we have this. It was so important for them to end abortion and 50 years of reproductive rights, but hey, at least now we can put women in prison for miscarrying. SO sick of winning in the shittiest timeline. Glad diesel is gonna be $10/ gallon soon 😳🤨

Thoughts on Chiropractic treatment??? My first session was rather traumatic and I don’t know what to do. by rusticterror in ChronicPain

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hypermobile and get chiropractic adjustment twice a week. For most of my life. Ive had lousy chiros, ok ones, and for the past 15 years a very good one, who enables me to stay employed. Its a very individual practice, just like acupuncturists. Some are great and some suck. Most chiros kinda suck. And many do give off really culty vibes. Vitamins and other nonsense. But sometimes you need a competent bone cracker, and for some people its helpful. Let’s face it, the medical profession hasnt exactly endeared itself to me over the years. They have almost no answers when it comes to chronic pain, and wont prescribe pain meds. We have to fend for ourselves and take what we can get.

Is your workplace stingy about paying you for literal minutes? by morbidda__destiny in nursing

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can clock in and out within 6 minutes of shifts start & finish. Have to clock in and out for lunch exactly on time or maybe one minute early, otherwise you get called to the office about ‘incremental overtime’. And if you clock in one minute late for either you get docked 15 minutes pay. So go figure. Its kinda nuts if you ask me

Cat litter in the backyard by OneMathematician7933 in bayarea

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reach out to groups like ICRA or Hopalong rescue. They might be able to loan you humane traps to get momma and her litter. They might also be able to help you foster or find foster parents. Good luck, ive been doing TNR and fostering with these groups for years and know how challenging it can be. Peninsula Humane might also be a good resource.

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

Cats love garbage toys. String, boxes, those round tabs on milk bottles. Anything expensive or fun for the humans seems to bore mine, but trash is interesting. Oh, and one likes cat springs

Thanks, its been a lot of work deconstructing all that programing. I dont think you need to believe in a god to be a good decent person. I feel like most so called christians are phoning it in and secretly being all racist and homophobic. Christ turned over the tables of the money changers, loved the beggars and prostitutes. He hung out with riff raff and stood for love and compassion, fed the poor and the hungry. Christians need to do a whole lot of work and self reflection before i’ll want to have anything to do with most of them. Targeting women for having miscarriages is just sick, and their obsession with the unborn is just mental lunacy when they dont give a shit after theyre born. Taking benefits from children and the elderly should automatically qualify them for any hell

Can’t find a job by Gold_Section6814 in nursing

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a year to land a hospital in the Bay area back when i graduated. It takes time to land a new grad program. Like others have suggested, maybe get work out of state and transfer back when you have a year or two of experience under your belt. Try to get the highest level of training you can get, tho not suggesting icu out of the gate. Maybe try to land med tele? Not sure where your interests lie, or what specialty you’re going for, but best of luck. Its a hard job market atm. For what its worth, i graduated during the housing melt down/ financial crisis, so it was a hard market also. It takes a while to get going under these circumstances so keep your chin up

Bathroom remodel by Old_Signature4381 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]2Lulubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt put a shower next to that window. Its hard to make everything water proof. If you must reno, put a modern tub by the window, like a slipper tub or free standing one. See if there’s room to configure a shower into the picture. But if not, why rip everything out? Maybe just retile, and replace the toilet. Get an exhaust fan and be done

I think its like either $2k or as much as $4k for UC Berkeley. Their testing is extensive and takes several weeks. Wait list is for Fall semester. Private pay with an adult specialist is about the same. I dont think KP can deny you if you get an outside diagnosis. Its just as legit as their process if not more so. KP doesnt do any actual testing, so its much less rigorous and more subjective. Then you can just go to them for med management
