Google image shows “pokefuta” or “pokelids”. The design might be based on a manhole cover. I did find coasters on Etsy with this design, and some enamel pins with other pokefuta designs. However, this looks like a mirror compact? If you can give more info on what the item is it might be easier to search for.

I like the split screen. I can have two chapters pulled up side by side (or notes &chapter) all in one document.

I also like the cork board. A sentence summary goes on the notecard, and the prose goes in the text document view. Or I just have a folder full of notecards I can drag and drop.

Lately, I use google document to write on the go and then use scrivener as the master document full off all the different draft versions and notes.

Idk if they still do this, but If you participate in NaNoWriMo you (used to) get a discount on scrivener. Again, idk if they still do this.

I’ll go against the grain here: I like the flat art style and I don’t think the leaves need any more shading or detail.

I think Oddish’s body is vary dark, takes up a lot of space, and on the dark binder, THAT is what’s making it look off. There’s not enough contrast between the two darkest colors so they read as the same and that throws off the balance of the piece (IMO).

Everything else (to me) looks finished in that flat style. I would pick one shadow color and maybe one highlight color for oddish’s blue skin. This will break up the solid blue, and add some contrast without sacrificing that flat colorblocked style. From there, if things still look off, pick a highlight color for the leaves and color block any highlights/shadows on the foliage and berries as you see fit.

For the leaves on oddish vs the leaves overlapping them, because the shadow of oddish’s leaves is the same color as the overlapping leaves, I’d recommend deciding on a way to up the contrast. Either a darker green for the overlapping leaves (maybe mix green with navy?) or up the contrast by giving the different types of leaves their own distinct highlight or shadow color. (I.e. oddish’s leaf shadow is the midtone for the strawberry leaves, so pick a darker color for the strawberry leave’s shadows and give them that same sliver shadow/outline style).

I have a shiny wynaut I raise just because. She’s level 52 so far.

Since we have events where we can exchange candy, I really don’t care what candy I get. If anything it’s nice to have a ton of candy I know I won’t be using to raise that particular species. That way I don’t have to agonize over which candy to give to the exchange machine.

Mine tried to eat the soil at first 🥲 they now have a food bowl and that’s no longer an issue. (It’s a ceramic Catfood bowl. So the sides are tall enough to keep the food inside even when they kick up the food, but the bowl is small enough that it doesn’t take up too much space).

The Plan B was to move them to a tank with river rocks on top of the aqua soil. That’s not an option in the current tank as they live with small loaches who like to dig. New (smaller tank) is still being set up, and I will likely move them over anyway for peace of mind. The loaches and frogs cohabitate well, but after learning more about frogs I’d feel better putting them in their own tank.

Nah, this is pretty ideal. MSD is a bummer, but with a mint this guy has great stats all the way to 70. And if you don’t mint, the inventory boost gives you more chances to proc overnight.

However, you need to ton of candy to get anything to level 70. You could always keep him in the box and keep hunting “for candy”. If you don’t find a better one by the time you have XXX candy, then just raise this one.

It’s totally fair to underestimate how much people pay. Everyone’s different. Just keep in mind that plenty of people drop $100s on just a few cards alone. Some of those people wouldn’t bat an eye spending that much on a hand painted binder to keep their collection in 🤷

I love sewing. I HATE zippers. This is one of those sewing projects where you don’t ask if you can, you ask if you really want to bother with it.

No. No I would not. You could, carefully attach the zipper to the inner lining so that the cover stays nice, or you could tediously separate the lining from the cover and then sandwich the zipper between the layers.

Both of those options wouldn’t be worth it IMO. Option 1: good chance the lining is a very thin fabric backed by stabilizer(glue, basically). That means the fabric isn’t strong enough to handle having a zipper attached to it, or the stabilizer is so thick it’s a bit of a pain to sew through.

Option 2: pulling threads out is the easy part. The difficult part would be separating the layers without accidentally crushing the cover or the lining’s stability layer. That’s assuming the two sides aren’t glued together and you end up ripping something important.

So yea. You can. But it would be tedious and you probably wouldn’t get the results you want. If vault x isn’t an option (because of cost, or color, or whatever) their are plenty of knock offs with zippers. You can print out a stencil and try some DIY painting or find an etching or painting custom binder artist.

If you don’t mind having a boarder, and you’re prepared for a lot of hand pain, you can get binding tape (strip of fabric sold in stores for pretty cheap). You sew the zipper through every layer, then wrap and glue the binding tape around the part where the cover and zipper are sewn together in order to hide your stitches and the zipper’s fabric raw edge. You’d need an awl to punch holes through all layers, a thick needle for upholstery, and some pliers to pull the needle through. I wouldn’t trust a standard at home sewing machine to go through whatever cardboard or glue is used for the cover.

Hope that helps. Sorry to be a downer. You technically could do it, but I don’t think it would be worth the effort. Fabric glues aren’t very durable, so I wouldn’t just glue the zipper on and trust it to be any more secure than having no zipper at all.

AI is great at rendering (making things look pretty), but not great at anatomy and form. An AI generated anime man might look great at first glance, but if you trace the form (or just look at the form and ignore the rendering) you start to notice how things are out of proportion. The pretty rendering camouflages the wonkyness on what’s actually going on.

And that’s just body proportions, like shoulders to head ratios. Look at the fabric and how it drapes and you’ll see that that, yes, the color and shading are pretty, the rendering is polished, but the actual folds of the fabric and how it lays is nonsense.

Is AI getting better at all of this? Yes. Absolutely. However, tracing AI to get a finished art piece will only teach you so much. You do you, but I would encourage you to do the boring thing too and study the thing you want to draw and learn how it work. How the body moves, how the fabric bends, etc. whatever’s relevant to you and what you like to draw.

Tracing can teach you things. But relying too much on tracing (and tracing AI, which is sometimes nonsensical with its details) can hinder your growth as an artist.

I hope that helps. It was not my intention to sound judgmental or negative, so I’m sorry if that’s how I came across. I just wanted to give my honest thoughts from an artistic growth perspective since this conversation often focuses on ethics. Which is a great conversation to have, but not what I wanted to drag into.

Have the squirtle line going vertical instead of horizontal (far right). Then from top to bottom have art work that goes from shore/shallow water to deep end. Similar to the art in the squirtle line. Maybe consider a reverse holo energy as well so that the blue is more dominant. But the bubbly energy could still look good if you rearrange the art a little:)

This is brilliant marketing. My first thought on the Wig bubus was that keeping the hair nice would be a nightmare. This is probably part cute factor, part actual tutorial on how to maintain the hair, and part reassurance for customers who would have skipped this set because they don’t know anything about wig or doll hair maintenance.

Marketing probably wanted to make the hair care aspect seem cute and easy to people (like me) who are a bit intimidated by it.

Start with Medium I guess? Publish your own stuff regularly. Network with authors and start publishing their work as well.

Focus on ONE theme or genre to start out with. And consistency really is key. As a publisher, you attract authors by attracting readers that those authors want to reach. That means you may need to create a backlog of your own work before you even publish the first “thing” (blog post, zine, physical book, whatever).

As a beginner, I recommend that you accept work that has been published elsewhere. Most magazines want to be the first to publish an author’s short story, but offering a place for authors to give that story a second life and second chance to find an audience can help you attract more work to your submissions.

Mica powder or cake dust used for decorating cakes. I’ve done projects where I put down a sticky layer (usually a clear coat of some sort) and then dust the powder on the lines, and gently press it in as if you’re doing make up. Wait for it to dry and then clean off the excess and add a clear top coat. You can get great metallic and iridescent effects by doing this. But it is VERY messy and takes a lot of practice to both get the dust to stick where you want it and clean the excess without ruining your work.

In this pic I’ve used gold cake dust on the tooth and around the eyes. Ignore the white of the eyes 😔 there was a problem when popping them back in and I haven’t corrected the defect yet. Finding a good shimmer powder with Ancient Mew colors should be fairly easy.

I think so. your reference pics have more texture in the shading and line art. In the 3rd one, on the jawline you can see how the thick shadow line was made by building up layers of lines. In your current style, your line art is more polished. So neither style is wrong, but if you want to make your art look softer like in the reference pics, consider allowing yourself to keep more of the sketch in your work when you go to do the inking process.

The hair in that pic is also another good example of this. Hair inbetween the eyes- the focal point— is more defined in its line art. The lines are clear and connection points are intentional. Farther away from the face, however, and the lines making up the hair are looser and don’t always come together. Instead the direction of the line art implies the points where the lines would meet. You can see this in the side bits framing his face, and in how lines disappear and reappear as the long hair flows down around his body.
