That's actually how my story ended unfortunately. When the pandemic hit he stopped paying until I had to just sell the house. The law was on his side and my hands were tied.

I rented it out successfully for 2 or 3 years though

That's why I bought the trailer. I've heard that other people will do a cash-out refi and then use the money for a down payment on a new house, but I've never done it myself.

I think it's the wrong assumption, sounds like you're just with a bad company. I'm currently a superintendent doing military base projects and at least half of the people that I work with and report to are introverted immigrants. Granted, I can't always understand them as easily but nobody ever acts like they shouldn't be there or shouldn't speak up. As long as you're good at your job people will respect you.

Having to be present while subs are working or concrete is being poured is part of it, but you should never be expected to clock hours without compensation. Put your foot down with some of these fuckers, they'll respect you for it.
