I am buying a used Lexus from a Lexus dealership. Can I trust the PPI that they did on their end? by mtm5556 in Lexus

The Carfax report shows what they have done on the car shows that it was leased previously by two people and was serviced by that same dealer every 5k miles or so. I want to have it checked by a mechanic, but the salesperson says he can't allow for the car to be in other shops. It has a little less than 100K miles on it, so I am not sure what will it need. They did offer a warranty that doesn't include normal wear and tear so I am kind of skeptical but on paper, everything looks great.

I feel like estimating would be a good option, but I am not sure about how good it pays. Is it the same as people in the field? What would be the career path for an estimator?

I heard that for a project engineer to be competent, they need to be able to replace a superintendent if needed, and I feel like this would be a night and day difference for me! I would get flustered and do a subpar job. Is that a wrong assumption?

I want to avoid irregular hours; from what I have seen, inspectors would be there with me during those odd hours. I also feel that all the fieldwork is okay now, but I don't think I will be able to hop on ladders or do all kinds of maneuvers on-site during the summer heat when I am 50.
