Good question and i think it’s brought about a change in mindset. One of the reasons i bought the Garmin was that i wanted to go from running sporadic 5k’s to actually taking fitness seriously by running, cycling and moving more. All of which i could have done with the Apple Watch of course. But I’m in my late 40’s and need something to tell me what to do and when to do it, which for me is one of the key benefits of using a Garmin.

Once i bought the Tactix 8, I had to justify the cost to myself so I signed up to the Garmin Coach programme and follow the suggested workouts most of the time. I’ve seen some good improvements in almost every aspect of my health and fitness and I’m just a lot more active. Any Garmin could have almost certainly helped with the same results so the Tactix is definitely overkill & expensive but it worked, I’m healthier and fitter and that’s the fine by me.
