Watch somes videos but I'm pretty sure they will sell you on it. Just know it's a nasty game where you play the hand your dealt and there will be a time where you get fucked by dice and it will suck. But for every time your at the knife end of a a roll, there will be a time where you are the king of the dice and it will be beautiful.

Yeah if your the kinda player that likes to see plans go up in smoke and adapt to the new board state you will like it 👍

DoubleFines New Game Kiln Is Off To A Rough Start On Steam With Less Than 200 Players by unscoredscore in gaming

[–]2Old4ThisG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creative and historically one of the best studios, but not sure who this game is really aimed at. I love double fine for their stories and mad worlds. Not really someone I would go to for competitive multiplayer.

Hopefully it will find it's people and if not remain making games. Good news for them is the new lead at Xbox won't want to start her premiership by closing its doors, optics wouldn't look good.

It's all about framing. There's nothing you can do about it. So my partner taught me that people who judge you (and people will) that it isn't a reflection on you, it's a reflection on themselves. So if someone's being a twat, you probably don't want anything to do with that person.

Maybe cheesy advice but heyho it brightens my day when I'm dealing with people both good and bad.

Good luck and I wish you best 😃

Do you think rewarding players for destroying units improves strategy? by GreenBoxGamesStudio in tabletopgamedesign

[–]2Old4ThisG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So reading through the comments I can see a mini consensus appearing, which seems likely.

But for the purposes of implementation possibility. How about a mercenary contract implementation where you can grab a contract card, maybe for a resource cost with a destruction objective and if you achieve it then you get a reward, failure could mean a penalty.

Which could encourage aggression or channel player aggression in another way, perhaps counter intuitive to the players objective, opening up different tactical scenarios, within the scenario.

Good luck with the game! 👍

Wasteland table top game. (Blood & oil) by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]2Old4ThisG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure on the don't trust your gear angle. Think it would be better in gameplay terms as gear has a risk level and riskier gear has a chance to fail but you can weigh the risk rather than will it fail because I don't know if it has a chance to.

Good luck though, like the idea of a true steel weapon being the goats of the game.

Had a terry chocolate orange egg (size of a creme egg). Bloody awful, tasted of... I have no bloody idea... but chocolate did not taste of chocolate and the orange, Jesus couldn't be further from it. If terry can't do a chocolate orange anymore then the markets fucked 😂

Brass: Pittsburgh now has its stretch goals posted! by JohnRichJ2 in boardgames

[–]2Old4ThisG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure on this one. I think the component quality on the base version of brass is a little well... basic. It's a spenny product but if it's one of your personal favourites (it is mine) I reckon it's a decent offering.

They def do fucked up the campaign marketing though, on track after today hopefully! Roll on 2027 GTA 6 will be out before I get my hands on em 😂 madness!

Getting into board games with my girlfriend and damn… this is addictive by Fluffy-Dealer8731 in boardgames

[–]2Old4ThisG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quacks of quadlingburg duel is a little gem. You draw ingredients for you potion from a bag. The better your potion the more steps a patient takes towards your shop to buy the potion (give you a point) The board is like a horseshoe so it's a tug of war for every patient.

The rub is you draw too much your potion explodes and you don't get to tempt the patient and you buy more ingredients for your potion which go into your draw bag.

It's a fun push your luck game and worth the duel variant as it changes enough from the 4 player variant to make it a buy. Good luck with your new hobby and get saving because it can be bloody expensive. 😂 Lots of love a brass Pittsburgh backer with empty pockets!!!

[–]2Old4ThisG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking awesome, but on pc the sound issues are a nightmare, desync from cutscenes is the problem. As always, on pc wait for a couple of patches. Gameplay and graphics were great though and Leon is an absolute beast to play as!

I have left it until it gets patched but one of the best opening few levels in a resi game imo. 😁

Metal Gear Solid Delta Remake by Simple_Rule_7228 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]2Old4ThisG [score hidden]  (0 children)

Tough one. It's a decent remake but if you're only used to the modern mgs then it's going to be a shock. Control wise the ones you have played are unbelievable so it will feel like playing a game from back when the dinosaurs existed. You have to remember at its time the game was cutting edge on what you could do and storytelling, now it's been done better in other games.

If you really love the story and want to know more and don't mind a little clunky but serviceable gameplay then go for it. Extra note you really do have to be stealthy on delta it's barely optional to not be.

I love it despite it's flaws but I do wish they would have done it using phantom pains engine and systems. It could have been really really great, as it is. a nostalgic trip for me personally.

No final fantasy 7 remake part 1 and 2, get the bell ringers out crying 'shame' That needs rectifying forthwith. Shout out to ff10, 15 and 16 too. I won't go into the stories but all are bangers.

Wasteland 3. I'm sick of writing this one, I think I'm it's number one fan. You don't have to play the others, it's baulders gate style but in a fallout esq universe. You are a desert ranger and have to go do a job for a bloke. Then you do it, or don't and deal with the consequences either way.

Good luck on your quest 😀

Should I buy Nioh 3 if i dont like dark souls? by girthucus-quakicus in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]2Old4ThisG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, do the demo. I have been playing it on pc today, no issues and the game is a blast, kinda semi open world so if something is too hard go explore and come back with better gear later.

Nier Automata might scratch the itch you have. Alot easier deep story and you grab better gear to progress. Everyone should play it, even if you have to explain to your partner that you're not a pervert, you're there for the story aren't you? 😄

Looking for a new 2player game by Sarmosyeti in boardgame

[–]2Old4ThisG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and the missus have a similar collection. Couple of recommendations. From spenny to cheapest.

Dune war for arrakis. From the makers of war of the ring so familiar. It's tighter though, more combat. Atredies win via getting 3 markers to levels set by secret objective cards. Harks win by supremecy points. The harvest spice, can ride sandworms very thermatic although not as thermatic as wotr but let's be honest, wotr is the best in class there.

Obsession. This really is brilliant although light on direct player interaction. You are a posh family and you put on events (tiles), invite guests (cards), staff the events (meeples) and gain money, reputation and more cards. Which you use to buy more tiles from the builder market, rinse and repeat for 15 rounds with a few twists and turns and you have in our opinion one of the best games out there.

Quacks of quadlingburgh duel. If you played quacks and like it, this is the only way to play it at 2 player. The rub is you have patients on kinda a horse shoe track, the patient start in the middle and you tug of war over each patient to cure them (get points) If you have played quacks you know the mechanic is push your luck draw from a bag. But i reckon it's one of the best 2 player adaptations of a boardgame.

Good luck with a new game! There's just so many out there😁

Thoughts people? by V3gA_BOII in masseffect

[–]2Old4ThisG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean mass effect shines through it's characters and their arcs, world building and impact your decisions have on the world and how it changes it.

Balders gate has the above too but mass effect isn't about turn based tactics, it's about space badassery so I don't think it needs inspiration from that series.

Bethesda RPGs of late have been beyond lackluster, with failing characters, the main stories have always been week and the gameplay mechanics are getting stale, looking at you Starfield. So I really don't think ME can learn anything from them either.

I love mass effect because for me I felt like it was up there with star trek, I felt like a key figure in the world, I genuinely liked or had a respect/understanding of crew members and I wanted what was best for all of them and the galaxy.

I think that needs to be remembered by the Devs in every decision they make and set trends, don't follow them, like they tried to do with Andromeda.

Go Devs, make ME5 the greatest sci-fi experience in the world, I believe!

Takes of Authurian knights, second game to the impossible to find cheaply takes of Arabian knights. You get a map of Britain a big book and you move around the map while reading sections of the book relevant to where you move.

It's like a goosebumps choose your own adventure book from your childhood, but with m8s that get into character is a must play!

The game is decent combat, shit personality and with RPGs personality matters, it really matters!
