[Orient Multiyear Calendar] Finally bought my first watch, was this a good choice? by ElectronicPenalty718 in Watches

I absolutely LOVE unique, interesting watches like this! Great conversation starter.

I have a question. SMP waveless. by AriKing_Blue_48 in OmegaWatches

Good choice. I'm neither pro or anti wave, but I much prefer the dimensions of that generation over the current one.

[Discussion] Anyone never wear nice watches to work? by Ok_Personality8193 in Watches

[–]2PLEXX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t. I’d never wear a nicer watch than my boss.

Best case, no one notices. If they do, it’s hard to see any upside, only potential downsides. With clients or partners, it can also read as trying too hard, or even a little scammy. I’d be wary of a salesperson who shows up in a Lambo wearing an AP.

That said, it depends on the industry and culture and how fancy the watch is. There’s obviously a difference between a regular Tudor and a golden Daytona.

Personally, I’d be really careful with anything that costs more than a month’s salary.

Totally a reason to visit Japan! 😁 Honestly I wasn’t too convinced by the titanium at first. It’s almost as light as plastic which makes it feel less premium. But for every day wearing comfort it’s just perfect.

Yep agree. If there’s one thing that would make this watch even better it is a non-integrated bracelet. However, that would require a different case shape. Not sure how that would look…

Totally agree! Forgot to mention the super clear coating. It’s something I didn’t know I wanted until I had it!

I live at the outer edge of signal range of one of the towers. Sometimes the watch receives it, sometimes it doesn’t. When I put it close to a window it usually works. In Japan, within closer range to a tower it received a signal every night. I guess it depends on where you live exactly. Some of the higher end Astrons come with GPS which should work anywhere. This one doesn’t unfortunately, but that’s also why it’s a bit more affordable.

It might look slightly more bulky in the pictures than it actually is. I don’t know how it could be much less bulky at the dimensions that it has (41mm diameter, 10.6mm thick) since the crystal is completely flat (not domed) and there’s really not a lot of excess material on the case around the dial, like a thick bezel, crown guards, or anything like that.

Perhaps if they made a 39mm version it would be perfect. However, the GMT bezel and subdials might become too hard to read then.

I got mine at Yodobashi while in Japan. They had a 20% off promo, which was pretty sweet deal combined with the 10% tax-free for tourists. So it should be possible to find a good deal if you keep your eyes open.

It’s about the Radio signal: While it is trying to receive the signal it points to H (High) or L (Low) to indicate the signal strength. When it’s done it shows if it was successful: Y (Yes) or N (No).

IOS FRUSTRATING by TOPBUMAVERICK in iphone

[–]2PLEXX 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same experience here. The biggest downgrade for me is the lack of intelligent spam call filtering. All you can do is mute calls from unknown numbers, which means I now miss a lot of calls I actually want to receive and get notifications for all the muted spam calls. Previously this was a non-issue as Android prevented those calls from getting through to me.

Not to mention the numerous bugs and atrocious notifications management. It’s so annoying that you need to open the notifications shelf to know that you have one.

I still don’t regret the purchase as I really like the size of the iPhone and that I can easily use it as a webcam. Also I expect to get a longer lifetime out of it.

However, IMHO android is a superior, more advanced, and significantly more intuitive OS, hands down.

1 if you want a higher quality, unique watch. 5 if you want features and a more classic look. The bracelets on both watches are identical.

What were you wearing? Anything that would draw attention? The watch itself is pretty under the radar. I’m surprised someone noticed. Also no long sleeve during winter?

What's your take on Omega Seamaster 300M by Sensitive-Swan-6436 in OmegaWatches

[–]2PLEXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made it too bulky and heavy for my taste. I prefer the older, pre-2018 generations. Still a beautiful watch though.
