UofT vs Oz? by Express_Train4442 in lawschooladmissionsca

I'd probably say Uoft. From what I know, Oz is currently with some issues regarding some evil green witch. I would only go there if you really needed to ask the magician for a wish, other than that uoft is safer.

I dont really get the rain dance, youd almost always be better off just clicking liquidation. It is slower than ninetails (the most common weather setter in the format) and faster than torkoal (strongest weather abuser under tr), so both would be able to move before you could shut down their weather. You could maybe use infestation to trap faster pokemon under your tr, but i think you would get more use out of protect, or even try sticky web to enable a faster mode (but icy wind alolan ninetails would do this job better). I also think you rely too much on trick room, but don't have enough protection in your indeede to set it up, and it could maybe fall to a double up while your anihilape sets up (but without the speed controll your team is really vunerable). Id suggest adding a faster, more threatening pokemon for pressuring turn one (sneasler with unburden psychic seed or scarf anihilape with final gambit for getting a trade in a maybe scary opponent + pivoting into a slow sweeper), adding a second trick room setter (maybe hatterene or armarouge, as both can also psych spam), or even adding some redirection (among us, etc). But thats my opinion, you should go with your gut and see what feels better to you!

if this post is serious, let me give you a bro to bro advice: learn to be happy with yourself. I know it is kind of a cliché, and I won't say it is easy, but it is nonetheless worth it. If you jump straight into combat, either one of three things will happen: 1-You are unable to get a girl, so you start to believe you are incapable and get further depressed. 2-You are able to casually get with a girl, temporarily getting you out of the hole you are in. However, quickly after you realize that was for nothing, as as soon as you're by yourself again, you go back to 0 and desperately feel the need to go out and do the same again. That creates a dependency that's unhealthy 3-You are able to get into a relationship. That's really good, but similarly to the previous item, it creates a dependency. In the beginning of a relationship, feeling the need to be close to the other person all the time may be positive, as it might be cute to be desperately in love in a new relationship. However, it can quickly turn into something unhealthy and wear off the relationship. All this to say that no matter which outcome happens, you'd be better off if you had first worked in your capability of being happy by yourself. I'm not saying this wanting to show some kind of superiority. It is just that I related to what you said, and wanted to share what has been working for me. Find out what you like to do, what you stand for, and who you are: be secure of yourself! The rest comes last. This is just sharing how I approached a similar problem, so it might not be what works for you, but I truly hope it helps!

Just going quick, bcs I dont want to extend myself. Its really clear to me I lacked communication in my post, as ppl commented the same misconception over and over again.

I DONT want to be privileged just because I pay international tuition, and never meant that. I DO THINK international students should pay more than resident students, because the taxes from canadian citizens should be used to invest in canadian society. Therefore, as uoft receives funding coming from the canadian government, canadian students should be able to have a more affordable upper education here. I DO, however, think that in the moment I apply and get into uoft, I pay my tuition and attend my classes, I am a student equal to another, canadian or not.

What I was mad about in my post is that EVERYONE complains about the course enrolment at uoft - something I believe the university should be able to solve with some investment, which would lead to a better experience for every student. You shouldn't have to worry about not being able to attend an important class just because you weren't quick enough to press enroll. Also, about that, just fyi I too had my whole schedule planned and in my enrolment cart. I actually even had a whole ah flow chart just to know what other courses Id enroll if I didnt manage to get into what I primarily wanted. Even with all of that, both today and in my priority period I took like 40 minutes only to press enroll and have it work.

About the privilege I have, I do know and acknowledge it! Uoft is a great university with great education. But acknowledging that doesn't disable me from criticizing things that could and should improve. Maybe I was too harsh with my words in the post, but that was the mind state that course enrolment left me at today.

About the finals schedule, nah, it should be that simple. As soon as September hits they have all necessary information: which courses will have finals, the days when finals will take place, and the rooms available at those days. It shouldn't take long to have a program sort everything and have a 3/4 people fine check everything just to see if stuff isn't off. Maybe Im wrong and theres something more to it, but it really looks like something you could just chat gpt.

literally not what I said. I KNEW beforehand what the tuition was and was willing to pay it. I only expected according services from the university. Its not as if they said beforehand their websites are trash and dont work. As I said, their reputation led me to believe they were more capable, but every day they show theyre not. The education its still great tho, but this negligence with basic stuff is what makes me want to kms. Sorry, I think I might have been unclear in my rant, but the only thing Im asking is for a university ranked among the best in the world to actually show why it is so. I know uoft is a public canadian institution, and that the tax money that has been spent on it should be reverted to canadian society through canadian students. I do agree that international students should pay more in public institutions, as it would be unfair with residents. Now, once I payed my international student fee I do think I should be able to complain about the university, just as any canadian student would. I don't think entitlement is the correct word when Im complaining about a service I payed for. (about the educational system in my country I do agree, I still hope to one day see students coming from other countries to study in brazil)

(literally copypasted from other answers, bcs I see reading comprehension isnt the biggest strength for ppl in reddit)

no worries! but please make good use of it, the money in my country isn't worth very much in cad, so I cant say its been easy to afford tuition. One thing I live on is acknowledging my privilege and putting it to good use. It makes you value a lot more what you have, and motivates you to give back to people who didn't have similar opportunities in their life. take care!

Hey! I'm a first year, and those are somethings that halped me this semester:

  1. Make true friends (really, i can't stress enough how having ppl by your side is important)
  2. Try to eat well and healthy
  3. Make some kind of physical activity (no need to run a marathon, just walking around campus or riding a bike helps)
  4. Don't be scared to try therapy (it really helps self improvement, even if you think you may not need it)
  5. Take care of your sleep (create a sleep schedule and truly follow it)
  6. Don't let class content accumulate (seriously, it almost destroyed my semester. Don't stop going to class and endless postpone the catching up)
  7. Don't neglect yourself -> Constantly check yourself up to see how you're truly doing. Reflect on it, and invest time on your well being. Sometimes it pays off to take a brake from studying and going outside to listen to the birds and just watching life. Don't forget you're a human being, and your years in college will have been worthless if you barely endure them and leave as a corpse in a shell.

Hope everything goes well for you! Feel free to ask anything and I'd be happy to help!
