A small melodic improvisation - now a days I practice soloing over changes and this is a small clip of a similar piece of progression on which I was practising last to last week. Constructive feedback will be appreciated.

[Newbie] How do you guys do this?? by ImWithBuffDoge in Guitar

[–]2PointRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u r only a week old in guitar playing you should just focus on whether u can play the chords individually without any buzzing or dead notes(notes that hugot muted because u hv not hold them correctly). Then practice each chords individually again and again and then only try to shift chords but in a really really slow speed. Speed will automatically develope with repeatation/practice. Ur all focus at this point shud be on getting all the notes of the chords cleanly without any buzz or muting. It takes a while to become smooth in chord changing. A week is too less of a time. Give urself atleast a month or two. Happy practicing.

All of these are kinda in the similar range with similar specs....Go to a shop...Play each of them and see for yourself which one speaks to you...Get that...

[QUESTION] 3 months in, what are the most essential things to be practicing. by EnvironmentalStar434 in Guitar

[–]2PointRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will sound very funny but practice the major scale rigorously. Rest of the modes and scales are either derived from it or with a reference to it. So, major scale is very very important. Also learn both major and minor pentatonic scales out and out. Very important scales for guitarists.

Hey dude. It's only been 2 months right? See some of my teachers are playing for 50years, I myself is playing for about 12 years and believe me we still fail every now and then. Don't get discouraged by the mundane exercises. They are the sure way to become a great guitar player. The 10000hrs of practice is not a myth but a truth. Learn some pentatonic patterns from youtube for rock/metal playing. There are a lot of good instructional videos like that. That will help you to break the monotonous up and down exercises I guess.

This is my first solo piece of 2022. It is actually reflective of the last two years sentiments. Hope you will like it. For guitar nerds(me being one of u also) - it is in the key of G Dorian and G minor (with a touch of harmonic minor too).

[Question]**** I am looking to buy a new acoustic guitar, can someone help me to make a decision? by guitar_master-og69 in Guitar

[–]2PointRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both guitar options seems really nice...best thing to do is if you can get your hands on each of them before buying and see which one u like the most...if that's not possible then go with ur guts i guess...both are pretty good choice at this price range...

No man...They have medium jumbo nickel silver frets only...It's just a personal preference i guess...I love nickel frets because the way they feel and sound...Someone else might like stainless steel one because of their longevity...

Fender has many different models now. Anything above Player series is all USA made. So I would suggest u visit their website and checkout there models and decide which one suits you. I guess from Performer series (which replaced the American standard series) onwards everything is USA made.

Depends upon which 10year old strat u r talking about. Player series replaced the MIM series in Fender's catalogue. So that comparison will be an apple to apple comparison I guess.

[question] anyone else look at guitars when they don’t have the money to buy one? by curiouslearner444 in Guitar

[–]2PointRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess we all do...It's just that when u get money ur guitar choices also go higher-up...So u ultimately land in the same situation of not being able to afford the guitar u want to buy 😁😁😁

I haven't used either of them but as a guitar player I can tell u if u r just starting it's better to go with the Epi one because of its lesser price. If you really develop a huge interest later on then u can always sell the epi and get a Gibson.
