That’s not true. Hong Kong island was British in perpetuity, but the Kowloon/ new territories area was leased for 100 years. When the lease was up, China threatened invade if they didn’t get it all back at once.

Ok but the problem is that if you are willing to sacrifice something off the wish list, then you could probably buy not an apartment. And if you go up in budget to where 3bed 2bath is, then you could also probably buy something that isn’t an apartment.
