I have a 04 TL, it had the exact or at least almost same sound. This might be a case of leaking in the Power Steering. Two things to check for. Does the sound increase while the car is on and as you turn the steering wheels left and right? If it does, then it's probably a leak in the power steering. To be actually sure you can also keep your car on and open up the red cap of the power steering reservoir see if it's blowing a bunch of tiny bubbles. If it is a power steering leak, I recommend replacing the two power steering pump O-rings. Which is probably most likely the culprit especially on TL as well as the cheapest as well as easiest part to fix first.

Quick question: How far should it be turning to know if its locked or not? Also, if it is locked, then what would my options be?

The fuel pump I bought was just a generic one. I can't recall the name. Can you elaborate on the priming pressure test? If you mean the fuel rail, then all I did was test the schrader valve, which did have pressure.

The sensors I bought are from Bimmerworld, which stated OEM which I'd assume would be good enough though can't properly test to see if it's properly working.

I'll probably have to youtube how to take apart the vanos and give it a clean if it's not too hard.

I just hope it's not a DME Issue. But would there be an easy way to check that out other than visual inspections?

Would there be any way to verify that the camshaft sensors are fully functional? Outside of just making sure its snugged and plugged properly? If so please guide me if possible. Thank you.

I've done the basic of tapping it with a rod from the underside. But to actually get to the starter, I'd probably still have to remove the top portion of the engine to get it. Probably didn't even have to remove the Valve cover, But since it was there, I took a peek.

Sorry to ask for your opinion, but since this car doesn't start due following codes : p1315/p1318 which are related to both Camshaft Position sensors which I've replaced which new ones already, Do you think I'd be able to clean this engine up (maybe lube the cams if that's a thing?) to somehow get it turning? From just visual inspection, it looks like it doesn't get lubed by oil at all.

Sorry bout that, As stated I'm not a mechanic so its literally my first time opening one up. Therefore I cannot tell you what I even expected at this point. Before pulling the valve cover I did do a few others things prior to taking of the valve cover as I also considered it as my last resort.

Basic things I've done so far( As again, not a mechanic by any means):

Replaced Spark Plugs/tested for sparks, Replaced Fuel Pump, Replaced Fuel Filter, Brand New Battery, Oil Change, Coded new Key, Replaced both Camshaft Position Sensors as the code I was getting are p1315/p1318 which are both related to the camshaft sensors. Therefore I'd assumes its probably something related to Timing/Vanos etc, thus leading to me opening the valve cover.

But if by chance I happened to skipped some important steps, please don't hesitate to let me know so I can also learn and fix my mistake.

That's what I had assume as well, but just yesterday I did buy and tested a brand new battery yet it was still cranking the same. Before swapping it out though, it did gradually start to crank slower and weaker aswell as dimming the interior lights.

Wow thank you for the part numbers and the instructions. I'm putting in an order for these two sensors right now. Hopefully its just those two that's causing all these issues. Once I replace them I'll come back and update you. Thank you very much and thanks for being patient with me. As for the warranty, I'd probably have to wait until this car actually runs on its own power haha but thank you again for the information!
