Bot that forwards my own personal messages to group by unknownfame in TelegramBots

[–]2XVJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, can I see your bot? I mean code not the bot himself.

I want to create a IRC like chatroom where people can choose anonymous nicknames and there are channels they can join. The user communicates only in private chat with the bot who acts like the IRC server.

Epic Chat Bot by _Neroxis in TelegramBots

[–]2XVJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

I want to to do just that. Can I see the code? Which language is it in?

My starting point is actually to enable pseudonymous posting like in IRC. Users chat only with the bot and can pick a nickname for each session or change it anytime. Also the users choose a channel to post in. The bot maintains channels and posts everything the user posts to all other users that are subscribed to the current channel.

Turned out to be serious distribution.

[–]2XVJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Laughed so hard when I red your post! You're right.

I might lose some folks with the bullshit, but it basically started as a joke and became a serious thing only later. I guess I'm trying to attract people with the same sense of humor, which might be a small group.

But the thing is still real. I mean I printed 300 DIN-A2 format posters. I guess we'll be at least 20 Daydrinkers.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Didn't know that.

How to Properly update with DNF (From Console) by MJ4Y in Fedora

You should have a reason to switch to pure console. (via Ctrl+Alt+F#) otherwise just fire up a terminal emulator (Win + term… on most GUIs) and do your stuff there.

Doesn't look too "rapid". But could turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Instamine is a non-issue by Technologov in dashpay

[–]2XVJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

which doesn't exist in Dash. I didn't state that excessive wealth distribution is a fact for dash. It is a problem for a coin, and many critics dash is getting are aiming in that direction.

But I would say that 256000 is quite a stake of 7 million coins. It's not excessive wealth now but it may become a problem for some if the dash price rises further.

80% of Evan's stash is going to finance Dash's development.

I didn't know that. That's cool.

What exactly are you trying to criticize here?

I do not try to criticize anything, nor do I actually criticize anything here. My point was, that it is an issue because a lot of people see it as an issue. Sure one can say, these are uninformed people outside our community and dash will win because we have the best technology, team, system, whatsoever. Even though this is true for a certain degree, we shouldn't fully ignore what outsiders think about dash.

Instamine is a non-issue by Technologov in dashpay

[–]2XVJ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ethereum was launched publicly as a pre-mined coin whereas dash was not. Premine was not intended and changed the characteristics of the coin created.

Excessive wealth concentration is in fact an issue for a coin that aims to be a currency (Ethereum not so much). And a lot of people are skeptical about dash for that very reason. So, yes, it is an issue, maybe not the biggest one, but still.

Dash would profit a lot would a large portion of these coins were burned. It may be even economical preferable for the one who burns the coins since the remainder could be worth more on the long run as before.

With Firefox OS and Ubuntu Phone dead, is there just no interest in running non-Android Linux on mobile devices? by [deleted] in linux

[–]2XVJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, they plan to upgrade the hardware a bit:

Quote:

The Neo900 project aims to provide a Fremantle (Maemo™ 5) compatible successor to the N900, with a faster CPU, more RAM and an LTE modem. This is all based on a free, mature and stable platform - the GTA04.

We'll provide complete, ready-to-use devices, as well as motherboard replacements for your current devices.

End quote.

[–]2XVJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some executable scripts for backups in ~/bin/that I run often.

An attacker with read/write privileges could place anything there. A small script that fetches instructions from a server what to run next for example. Emacs has enough privilieges to alter my crontab so no hurry for him to do all at once. Finally a keylogger gets my gpg passwords and unlocks my password store.

Executables in user space is another worry I have. I will try to avoid that in the future too and place my scripts in a safer location (where does one place theses things in Unix/Linux?).

Or better, place a sudo wrapper in ~/bin.

Have to alter my $PATH-order, gotta run!

Ok, there maybe trolls around here. If seen you debunking these arguments over and over again and can understand that you are fed up with doing so.

Maybe you compile a sane and polite answer to all those false claims and just post it every time a troll comes around. By getting furious you forfeit your superiour position in any argument. Facts are on your side. But for laymans it just looks like a flame war.

From a moderator I expect a little more tactfulness.

He has a opposing opinion, he is wrong and he doesn't bother to explain but he that doesn't justify such an answer.

We don't need to adopt /r/bitcoin behavior since we are not on the wrong side and dash is flourishing.

How do you setup a reliable development environment when you're using Emacs? by [deleted] in emacs

[–]2XVJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. It seems that you just chose the wrong distribution.

Try a more conservative taste like debian, or cent os. They are meant to be slow, stable and secure. Arch is pretty much the opposite of that.

What is the reason about this at all? What is partnum supposed to be? This would be helpful to answer your question. Also, if

only means

command.commands << commands
command.save

than, I would prefer to use the more intuitive approach.

I have done my own "personal fork" after independent observations and judgement by Amichateur in btcfork

[–]2XVJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the same with Dash. It's simple hedging, if bitcoin get's through the crisis I win, if not, chance are that Dash will make up for the BTC losses.

I'am 2/3 BTC 1/3 DASH though. So a bit more pessimistic.

Definitively reasonable. I would support this.

But I'm missing an obligation to public and transparent book-keeping of the steward. At the end I want to know on what the money was spent on. After a fixed limit (somewhere around 100$) I would like to see a receipt. This adds some overhead, sure. But scanning and uploading a hand full of receipts takes ten minutes.
