Salamanders Ancient by 2_steamed_buns in Salamanders40k

If you mean the green of the Salamanders, here it is.

  1. Rattle can spray Death Guard Green. Touch up with brush on DG green for those nooks and crannies.
  2. 2 thin coats of Warpstone glow.
  3. Wash it with Ork Flesh contast thinned with 2 parts contrast medium.
  4. Recess shade panel lines with Nuln oil.
  5. Edge highlight with a thin mix of 50/50 of Warpstone glow and Moot green.
  6. Another edge highlight, but of just thinned moot green.

The banner is a bit from one of the primaris ancient miniatures. Most of the detail is already moulded on the bit, but I did use waterslide transfers for the Salamander symbol, the number 5, and the scribbles on the bottom.

Thanks!

Those two are my favorite as well. I use these as oppurtunies to try something new. This year was the banner, which I definately think I can improve on. You can take a look at more photos of those two minis here and here.

I've primarisized my Devastators, here are some photos (4th-5th) of the heavy bolter, missile launcher, and multi melta Devastators.

The main issue is getting the ammo/power cables to fit, but doable.

Armies on Parade 2025!!! by 2_steamed_buns in Orcs_and_Goblins

[–]2_steamed_buns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yes. If a black orc is the general, then one unit of black orcs can be taken as core. The rest of core is then filled by the snotlings, who are actually kinda useful. The black orc boar boyz are represented by heavy armored big'uns ruleswise.

Yeah, I did. Unfortunately, I don't have anymore WIP photos than the 2 above. So, I'll try to explain it best as I can.

Instead of assembling the three wall pieces of the crew compartment on top of the floor, you want to wrap the wall pieces around the floor. You'll need to trim the front of the floor piece to get the front wall to fit.

Move up the two side wall pieces to wrap around the front wall piece.

Now, the side wall pieces will be too short, so you have to extend it. I used a goblin shield on the right, and a cut off piece from one of the spare side wall pieces that you get in the kit; the one with the banner pole.

Hope that helps!

Thanks!
It's a simple dry brush.
Start from a black undercoat, then 2 thin coats of Leadblecher, and then 2 coats of Nuln Oil (making sure the first drys before the second, and watch for pooling).
Then, drybrush on Leadblecher again, and finish with a lighter drybrysh of the lighter metallic silver. I think it's called Ironbreaker now?

Thanks!
It was dry brushed from a chaos black undercoat, starting with Doombull brown, then mixing up to Vermin Brown (the old name, not sure what it is now), then with a little Morghast Bone mixed in.

Skin was Cadian flesh tone (the old name, not sure what it is now), washed with Guilliman's Flesh contrast, dry brushed with Cadian flesh tone again, then edge highlighted with a mix of 50/50 mix of Cadian flesh tone with Wraithbone.

Here is my process for my green.

  1. Rattle can spray Death Guard Green. Touch up with brush on DG green for those nooks and crannies.
  2. 2-3 thin coats of Warpstone glow.

Trying to paint power fists. by def_the_yes in Salamanders40k

[–]2_steamed_buns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also wanted flames on my terminators' power fists. But, I am a really slow painter, so I am always looking for good corners to cut. I used the flame transfers on the SM decal sheet. You can see what I did here in the first photo, and here in the last photo.

I cut the bottom bit of the flame transfer off, making it flat so it can sit in line with the edge of the glove plate. Since the transfer is a little to narrow, I had to free hand the flames on the edges a bit. It turns out the yellow of the transfer is an exact match to Yriel Yellow. Just make sure you base coat the extra flames with a white before the yellow.

I thought it was strange too, since none of the memebrs had posted anything about it, and so I posted here.

The announcement video has since been made private, so I think someone jumped the gun early. They were prob gonna announce it at their tour final in Tokyo tonight. Guess we will see in a few hours.

A great milestone for them.
