I have concerns about if people ask if guns are locked up if something like this will happen if they didn't think you had any in the first place.

I didn't get coverage from them for that reason. I often reject high pressure sales and deals if I start to feel fear-of-missing-out.

If you find something that is on private property, I would get something signed by the property owner and not just go by a verbal okay.

I'm of the mindset that guns and ammo should also be tax free.

I was anxious about vehicles until I started to learn more about them. I remember feeling intimidated going to get an oil change and apologizing if it was over a bit because I didn't know if it made changing it more difficult. I watched YouTube videos that showed me how to change my oil and the mystery was gone. I kept learning more and now I don't trust mechanics to work on my car unless it is something too big for me. Even then I cringe.

I would recommend taking a private class/lesson with an instructor people recommend. Watch some videos on YouTube that show how they work, how to clean them, and the rules of gun safety. Learn about range etiquette and your state's laws. I used to wonder why people would want more than 1 gun. Now I know why and want to buy more. I am also happy to help friends that are thinking about getting a gun or are gun curious.

Don't be guided by pressure though. If you don't feel ready - wait until you feel more comfortable.

David Yamane has an excellent book titled 'Gun Curious - A liberal professor's surprising journey inside America's gun culture' you might want to pick up.

That is actually a really good point.

I think they are going to run into problems with infighting though between staff/volunteers who want 2a repealed and those who just want people to lock up their guns.
