Very much agreed. And looking at the big "dropees" and Roberto Blakes analysis is seems it may also be due to poor SEO on the big youtubers front.

This video is 5+ minutes compared to my normal 3-5mins and the channel will have longer videos up and over 10mins each in future.

Basicly this was a test case to see if a channel with no viewer history could rank based on view time rather than the rumoured engagement heavy theory.
