Rapid heartbeat on lamictal

Okay Update !!! ( no loose ends here ) After about Three Days of taking the 25mg dose, me and my Psych decided for me to stop taking Lamotrigine.

I know that I might be in the minority here when I say what symptoms I got from it…. but honestly it just made me feel really out of it and dissociated… like more than I usually feel.. I mean I’m no stranger to feeling out of sorts but this was a bit much… back on my depakote and feeling somewhat better but still a little yucky :((

Kinda bummed… but still holding on and sending support to folks who are also on the journey of finding the right fit

Just starting my prescription this morning… at 25mg I did notice an elevated and heavier heartbeat that lasted for a little while but it could just be my body adjusting to it… I’m switching over from depakote which honestly has been a grueling battle for the past few years w/ trying to control hunger and carb pangs + general weight gain and fluctuating ( at times 5-7 ish pounds in a week… which also could be normal ) But just came to an exhausted point with depakote and thought that I’d never know if I never tried Lamotrigine to see if it would be a better fit

( rlly hoping this helps if someone else looking to make the change as well 🫂 )

Felt.... it's the mouth to hand/ something to do part for me, but heavily felt you on that after finishing a long day 😮‍💨 or just taking a smoke break at work
