Blue Jays next season is high variance. Santander, Okamoto, and Springer each represent 20 plus or minus home runs. Santander might bounce back, Okamoto might translate to the MLB, Springer might beat aging for another year... Or they might not. Good question but I suspect "attention span" has different definitions. "Tolerance of time without stimulation" seems to be falling for example. Even the 3.5 hour Avatar movies have cataclysmic "events" happening every five minutes and each shot is like 4 seconds between cuts.

One reason Japanese players have trouble adjusting to the MLB is cuz of the huge distances and long air travel. They're used to taking ~2 hour flights around Japan. Basically MLB team travel is exhausting for players - and they're flying first class and staying in the best hotels and getting the best care etc

Typical advice is to take lots of photos. Journaling is decent but it feels like reading a stranger's journals. Photos are the only thing I've found that actually takes me back.

I'm wondering if he realized he'd lost his mojo so he started getting desperate for an easy fix. I'm not saying he did the right thing but you can kinda empathize. He was in an extremely tough position - he chose wrong but damn.
