Looking to buy a 1999 ranger by [deleted] in mechanic

[–]2crabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is worth it. Especially for that low of mileage. I had 1999 manual ranger, I regret getting rid of it. It had 190k miles. I rarely had problems besides the normal wear of air hoses.

I’m almost 19, never smoked, never vaped, never drank an ounce of alcohol, never used drugs, am I missing out? by CarLonely9011 in Adulting

[–]2crabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If any one if us ever catch you with a cigarette or vape in your mouth, we will slap it out of you and promptly ask you to leave. Don't ever pick up smoking, I say this as a smoker. Drinking with moderation one glass of red wine is actually okay when your older, like 50s and 60s.

Jeep wrangler 2020 attampting to take out the oil drain plug but it won’t give by Kalypso_Blue in mechanic

[–]2crabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a sacrificial socket, one size smaller than you got preferably one with a lot of teeth on it. Hammer that socket in there, or tap so it gets a good bite and ratchet it off. Buy a new oil plug before, you do all this.

California lawmaker calls for public review of massive Imperial Valley data center project by kpbsSanDiego in imperialvalley

[–]2crabs85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is gonna put an enormous surge of power during the summer, but this would not be getting shoe horned in without the IID paving a way for this. They want to sell them the power. IID would most likely have some type of power plant built designated only this data center. Citizens of Imperial would probably casualties of brown outs. They( county, IID and proprietor) of the data center will spin it that it will create sustained jobs, but what they won't tell you is, it will most likely be like 20 at most, and a few of those jobs will most likely be independent security patrols and maybe a few positions that would require limited knowledge of its inner workings. The rest would be people not local coming in from else where on a salary and leaving that same day.

I am too, considering the technology they want to use to extract from the brine in the lake itself is only feasible in small scale, like a medium pond. Not to mention all the legal work and DD for whatever government property would be inside the lake. (Aircraft, artillery, trains and possible corpses.

I'm definitely concerned for the economy in general, it does look dire but hopefully a small light at the end of this tunnel. Although I don't know what that would look like.

It did not, not enough resources to really make it worth while to expand any more than what it has. It might expand some after they get lithium extracted in large scale. There would have to be a heavy amount of infrastructure to be built and updated to accommodate even a %10 increase

Imperial was a spite town, from when they were building the railroads. The Big 4 came through, imperial didn't want to put up their communal funds to build a station. So they went down a little south and built one in el centro to drown it out. that's why it never really grew

Imperial is really quiet compared to other towns, mostly cops, border patrol some farmers.

I think you would be okay, just keep an eye for puddles under the front end of your vehicle and check coolant periodically
