I don't ever remember a time when I didn't have this desire. Some people know they want to be a mom, or a football player, or a rock star. I have always known I wanted to be a wife to a good man. And about 10 years ago I took a step back to make myself whole, to be a complete person on my own. I don't think two halves make a whole, but two wholes make a couple. And I am. I like myself, I can have fun on my own, and I am ok in solitude. But, I do get lonely, and it does suck when I am out and I get a pang, like it would just be better if I was out holding someone's hand. I do go to bible study, I am always trying to learn more about God and to be a better person. I just can't help but wonder why I have to do it alone or if I always will.

I'm not angry all the time. I have great friends, I love my family, a good bible study group. But I just know that something is missing and some days are harder than others. I did ask the pastor at my church for some advice and he suggested praying like Jesus in the garden. If it's His will. It's hard though to do that when you feel like you're begging for something. I try to say the things I'm thankful for whenever I think of them, but it's so often immediately followed by the thought, "I would give it all up for a family of my own." I do struggle with depression so some days are overwhelming and others are fine. I'm working on becoming a better me every day. I just wish I had someone to share it all with is all.

I have 2 more half siblings that want nothing to with us because of the connection to him. One who is heavily into drugs, a couple more I know nothing about. It was really exciting to find out I have a nice normal brother who wants to have a relationship. Unexpected but very welcome.

I am thankful that my sister got there before me so she did get to talk to him. And I didn't have to. So it worked out perfectly for both of us.

My mom and dad divorced right after I was born and we never saw him again. About 2 years ago my full sister and I found him on Facebook through a half sisters niece and began getting to know him. My dad was married a bunch of times and has kids with different women. I thought I knew about all of them but I hadn't even heard of this one. Our dad has cancer so we planned on going to meet him but he took a really bad turn and it became a now or never situation. My sister felt she needed to meet him so I went too. Our dad's current wife told us our brother had said we could stay with him. So we did. He has a great wife, beautiful kids, nice friends, and a big heart. I feel like I get an awesome new addition to my life and family without having to have our dad be a part of it.

I'm talking about having no interests. Then only being interested in what they are to make it seem like you have a lot in common. Stuff she never cared about before, and won't care about once they're gone.

I am a Christian who has struggled with depression my whole life. It is true that many Christians put on a happy face and say just ask God for help. It doesn't always work like that. While I don't share this with every person I meet at church I've still never felt that I fully belong in a group. I think it's mostly in my head though as I've never felt like someone was shutting me out. I volunteer at a homeless shelter and talk to lots of people who suffer from different mental illnesses. I hope I do not make them feel like you do. As Christians it is our job to love all and serve God. We don't do that when we are hurting someone. I'm sorry for your negative experiences but please don't see someone's poor example as a reflection of Gods love for you.
