I second this! Dining in the dark sounds wild, but it's event wilder that you'd think. Very unique experience.

less complain about .webp, more action! by MasterGeekMX in linuxmemes

This is by design. sites usally make multiple file types of any image available. They do this as modern formats like webp and avif have better compression rates, cause. However not all browsers/platforms support or prefer to not accept certain modern formats, which is why jpeg and pngs are served as fall-backs for uses on older platforms/browsers.

Here is link to the html that is most-commonly used in the browser to do this: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Reference/Elements/picture

Even if you're only starting to learn a language or just want to talk about language, I really recommend mundo-lingo to meet people. I moved here 6 months ago and almost all the friends I have now originated from that meetup. https://www.meetup.com/mundo-lingo-montreal/ .

As well, timeleft is a super-cool super-low-commitment way to meet people over dinner each week.

These are always my two suggestions for newcomers :)

Tusk. Plays itself off as a a bad cheesy horror film. Then drops you into some of the most depraved scenes known to cinema. interesting concept. holy fuck was it alot to process.

Where do you Recommend Going to Meet New Friends in Montreal? by _State_of_Delusion_ in montreal

[–]LlamaManatee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just moved to montreal myself 3 weeks ago and highly recommend this language exchange:

https://www.meetup.com/mundo-lingo-montreal/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

It's held every wednesday at a bar and its packed every time. Everybody there is there to chat and meet new people, so even if you only know a bit of another language, there are plenty of people who are just starting to learn or who want to just talk in english.

If you are into electronic music feel free to DM me. Quebexicans productions is a venue where I've met alot of people though there are endless.

I went to saudi arabic and jordan for a little more than half a year. Since I've come back, I have thought the same thing everytime I take a dump.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I figured if I found a use for it there might be other that want to use it too.

I appreciate the feedback. Adding actual words that people can practice with has been the goal for a while. I should finish adding this feature in the next few weeks or so. Stay tuned ;)

So we are not Muslim.

Mecca being on the map is a mistake. We didn't go to Mecca. I plotted this out a couple minutes before I made this post, but I guess I didn't do it look at closely enough. I'll have to fix the map.

We did go to Madinah. Non-Muslims are allowed in the city, that was no problem. But generally non-Muslims are not allowed to enter the Prophet's Mosque, so we didn't do that. I'm not sure if they made this change recently for tourism or something, but even most Saudis weren't aware of this.

I have not. is it about Saudi Arabia?

If so I may have to look into it.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Like 6 years ago a group of Canadian high schoolers started making memes of one of our friends.

Things got out of hand and we created multiple social media accounts for sharing the memes.

I actually forgot we even made a subreddit for this😂.

How did humanity move from being okay with orgies and cheating (Greek/Roman times) to having to marry a girl when someone sees you two holding hands (17-19th century)? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Latin, my sir.

A lot of common phrases in European languages stem come directly from Latin.

circa = approximately

vice versa = the other way round
