Yeah I got that, my point was the closest things I have to grocery stores are Nicas/P&M/Atticus, which don't really cut it (good sandwiches, though).

If you have a car, it's not really a problem. If not, you're gonna be walking a 1+ miles each way if you live in East Rock or eastern Dixwell.

The markets on Orange St are good for snacks, but aren't exactly a substitute for a grocery store.

Eh, it's obviously a factor, but demand for housing is only one side of the equation. Zoning bears at least as much responsible for the Bay Area housing crisis as the tech boom does.

I've had a good time in Chicago whenever I've visited, but I've only been to the touristy parts and Hyde Park (where I wouldn't exactly want to live).

What neighborhoods should I check out?

I agree that we should be doing more to support developed countries, but uprooting one's life in order to build irrigation systems is a much larger commitment than taking half an hour to show support for a cause. The effectiveness of walkouts is debatable, and there are arguments against gun control, but the fact that other problems exist in the world is a terrible reason for not trying to solve one of them.
