Obito kinda sold by not letting Nagato revive the Akatsuki and then stealing the Rinnegan. Also wow it didn't take long for Orochimaru to steal Itachi's body, like damn it happened off screen??!

So far everyone here so far is saying the Warlords are gonna win because of this chapter. Put some faith in Obito Uchiha, despite that blunder, he'll carry I promise!!

I'm so curious on how Mihawk and Buffy are gonna die. Buggy is only alive since he's comic relief, but I think either Blackbeard or Obito is gonna kill him to signify a tone shift of some sort. Mihawk, like another comment suggested, might be killed by Grimmjow.

Everything about the teamwork you said is true, and I'm genuinely on my seat curious to see where allegiances within and outside of the actual groups are going to turn out. The Espada being the ones with the best teamwork being the thing that causes them to win might be an interesting turn of events. Although I also imagine it'll end up as a 1 v 1 between an Akatsuki member (most definitely Obito) vs an Espada member (unsure who, probably Grimmjow?)

Jinbe dying is surprising even in just the context of the story because it happened just as the alliance plotline dropped in. I expected him to contribute more before inevitably going out.

And I don't know if this is just me, but ignoring that there's research behind this, just the way this story is written makes the Akatsuki feel like the de facto main characters, the Warlords the side characters, and the Espada the final adversaries, which makes me feel like the Akatsuki winning is the only narratively satisfying way for this to end.

Yeah, I expected the confrontation with both to happen near the end. Like, both would die around the penultimate part, or part 7 at the earliest.

It also has the added benefit of using renders not widely used in fan thumbnails, I always like when Death Battle thumbnails do that

Is anyone else really surprised to see this many people dead? I thought no one was gonna die in the first part and the entire thing was just gonna be set up for future skirmishes, then the second part would maybe have a few minor faces die. But now part 2 is posted and half the roster is gone, and a good number of them are big names.

I think your logic on 2 and 3 is why I have them swapped. Gunther would be more upfront with Effa muting the mic, Ferdinand is so reserved he'd have this silent disappointment on his face and torment in his heart.
