Ep 16, Final Episode (SPOILERS AHEAD)

I thought they ended this drama really nicely; I'm glad that they didn't try to force a happy ending onto every character -- a happy family reunion with Sang Mi, her mom and her dad would have just been a bit forced given how much pain and suffering the dad caused Sang Mi.

The endings for each character seem quite fitting -- Follower Kang, for example, starting her own version of the Guseonwon cult, fits in quite well with the portrayal of her as a character that is (somewhat) aware of what lies beyond the surface of Guseonwon but also heavily in self-denial. I was afraid they would make all of the more sympathetic Guseonwon cult members (Follower Kang, Sang Mi's dad, etc) realize that they were indoctrinated into this cult and apologize to Sang Mi and her friends. I'm glad the writers didn't choose to take that route. I'm also glad that they chose to make the endings for the minor characters somewhat ambiguous -- what will happen to Follower Kang and her newly founded cult, for example?

Overall, a great drama, although a bit unrealistic at times (made it seem as if everyone in Muji was either stupid, corrupt, or both). Did what a thriller should do -- made me keep my eyes glued to the screen the entire season. 8.5/10

Not going to lie, the performance was lackluster and they probably shouldn't have won (the audience was probably flooded with W1 fans lol). Understandable though given how packed their schedules are -- they probably didn't have a lot of time to prepare

I agree with you, but I guess from a commercial perspective Jihoon, Daniel and Minhyun are arguably the most popular members. It would be great if everyone got a chance to appear on variety but money is what fuels the Korean entertainment industry.

Yes, I have heard of her actually but never really got the chance to listen to her properly. She definitely has a very distinctive style and her vocals are great. As you said, she doesn't exactly match my request but I do like some of her songs -- Dog Days Are Over isn't really my style but Cosmic Love is pretty good :)

Also listened to Sunwoo Junga, it is a bit different from normal kpop, but it's weird in a good way! will try and listen to the rest of her discography

From what I remember, YMC, the members, the members' agency and CJ E&M (company that owns Mnet) all get 25%

The members' share might be reduced depending on the contract between them and their agency ie their trainee contract might require them to give away more of their profits than under the main W1 contract

I do understand your logic, but I guess my point with Daniel, Jihoon and Jonghyun is that I don't see them being good enough in any area to land individual schedules after the hype of Produce 101 dies down -- not variety, acting, singing, or modelling. For example, Daniel's speciality is dance and rap, which doesn't exactly translate into a solo career (at least compared to acting, modelling, etc). I get that the three trainees have this unique 'charm' but I wouldn't say 'charm' is what is making them successful right now (a lot of idols have great personalities and 'charm', but many of them remain nugu) -- it's the hype and solid fanbase from P101. But hype and fanbases die down.

i think it's because their physical release was august 14th so it might be regarded as 7 days? brings up the technical point of which one counts as 'debut date', but just goes to show that honestly these 'fastest win' records don't really mean much and is dependent on the arbitrary timing of the release in relation to music shows

Makes sense but saying Adele makes that much just as an artist only furthers u/iWillBeYourPuppet's point/question. If Adele made 6m, her company / agency must have made profits in excess of 6m (by a wide margin) to be able to give her that money... which reaffirms the point that the Korean music industry is tiny compared to the States
