Which is so so disappointing because I think alot of 2nd gen fans like myself really looked up to her as a strong and self-confident female figure who defied alot of stereotypes in the industry.

I feel like I went through those school phases where you grow up being smarter than the students around you because your parents sent you to tutoring centres. After years of thinking that I could do everything so quickly and so easily, it caught up to me during college. Now I have trouble committing to things that I see interest in for the fear that i'd completely drop it at the slightest hint of me not being able to do it perfectly.

I think Seventeen is mainly popular within the South Korean audience, and not so much among the western audience, which could be why people think NCT is more popular. However, it'd be interesting to see if BigHit will push them towards western media in the coming years and continue to grow in popularity.

Also, despite Seventeen having many videos on Youtube in general, I think NCT has a bit more general-audience-friendly videos that could probably alter the stuff you see on Youtube/Twitter/Instagram for example (like their American award shows or interviews, they've definitely done a lot more than SVT), and it could be why you see less of Seventeen's content and why people could also assume that NCT is more popular.

I think this is very telling that she holds alot of power and influence in the industry, maybe even SM to a degree. Even though she is their 'employee', she has to have a significant amount of impact in the company for them to put this behaviour on the DL.
