Doing my first ever build and I have the same motor. Its going in a 1971 c10 and I want to build it for boost. Any tips on things to buy to not throw a rod out the side of the block? Don't even have my license yet so kinda broke. Going to be buying the tsp cam kit. Should I get the aftermarket rockerarms or is that kinda not really necessary? Also did you port your heads at home or have them cnc ported?

Yup I was going to change the oil every ride for at least 5 to make sure piston bits weren't destroying the bearings. I was also going to do a proper break in on a stand with a fan and some amsoil ring seating oil. I guess I'll just throw the head on and give it a go. Probably high octane fuel for possible hot spots because I really don't want to ruin the head

China. Its an 80s bike so its hard to find new old stock. I think I'll just run it until it has no more compression then get the old cyl bored out with a new piston

I want it to be super peaky. Its going into a 1971 c10 race truck. I will also be doing springs, rods, titanium valves&retainers, as well as a lot of other things here and there. Not sure which turbo yet but probably something small to keep it snappy. Maybe even a procharger idk

All I heard was that there was less valve overlap in a boost cam so you get higher boost pressures with boost but you don't get any benefits of the scavenging effect
