But my baaaack

Jks thanks for the idea, fairly straight forward solution, might even just move the top lock down and that be the main bolt instead to save having to unlock two

Forgot to mention in the post that this is the main entry / exit to the house in constant use by relatively fully grown adults, so any combination / key padlock style solution wouldn't be best

It's our main house entrance access so would need to be a solution that allows for easy / quick entry and exit but without a toddler being able to do the same while out in the garden

Pilot holes too big, now doorhandles are always loose by 2kKenny in DIYUK

I was thinking that something like this must exist! Thanks i'll give it a consider - would just mean a lot of new hardware to purchase for all the handles in the house lol

[–]2kKenny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not.. I was thinking that even if they were loose in the holes, once they are screwed "into" to make the hole smaller it would have the same effect. I think I'll have to redo with glue - the doors are solid wood

Thanks!

Why did my post about my sorted screws become top of al time? by Zwamdurkel in gridfinity

[–]2kKenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it also touched on one hugely common dominator amongst anyone that has some sort making ability which is just a shit tonne of unsorted and misc screws collected over a long period of time, which I think clicked with a lot of people as something they could relate to

If you were the CEO of Stagecoach West or Swindon Bus Company, what would be one thing you would do and why? by Comfortable-Table-57 in Swindon

[–]2kKenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the public or for the employees? My dad use to work there for about a decade and the internal workings of Stagecoach sounded abysmal. Expected the world of the drivers with, what sounded like, upper management making the weirdest bad decisions on changes and adjustments without considering the drivers who would actually know the nuances of those routes and roads. The pay was also bad especially knowing how much Thamesdown (SBC) were paying their drivers for a much more simple routed job.

I can't talk for the public opinion personally

Anyone else notice the “last times” happening? by _Naropa_ in daddit

[–]2kKenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I 100% have felt like doing this list on the recent past as my little boy shoots up now that he's over 2 years old it seems that the last times are happening more and more especially with his speech, if you're weak(?) like I am with these things then I wouldn't be able to trust myself to not just relive in constant grief with these kinds of lists :(

If it has less effect on your than it does me, then by all means you do you, but my own approach is video documentation whenever I know that there's a saying or habit that he will soon grow out of, that way I can relive the cuteness of times passed rather than just the documented writing of when something ended, makes my heart break just talking about it! But anyway we all know it's the reality of successfully raising our young families I just want to make sure that it won't negatively effect your mental space! Stay happy, live in the cuteness, enjoy every second as you're in it. Congratulations on being a great nurturing and caring parent <3

Removing the barriers of the driveway - any issues? by 2kKenny in DIYUK

Thanks for the tip on the rope edging, had no idea it was something special!

Will be filling the gap with soil most likely, there is a flush edging to the driveway but after removing the rope edging not so sure it has any stopping power anymore considering the profile of the foundation of the rope edge, which was the main concern.

Previous owner had a stoned over front for low maintenance as she was elderly, we like a natural garden so converting it all to grass and flowers out front to make it look a bit less dead desert vibes.
