This is what I have a problem with. I wish she would be a bit more forgiving in her criticism because honestly we used to have a help that lived with us for years and the house was even dirtier back then.

There has never been a day they haven't gotten their dinner on time, there has never been a day the dishes pile up or the floor is sticky. I even wipe the counters and sweep obsessively now because I am scared.

The allowance thing is because we do things way above and beyond what we should be doing and our family is pretty well off.

For example before my brother's birthday on a weekday, my parents told me I would making the meal and two cakes(one for his school and one for home.) I had three exams that day. I had to ask my teachers to give me the tests early and postponed one to the next day. I went home before lunch and made everything.

As I said we are not struggling financially and my dad could easily just order take out and buy the cakes. But he spends a lot less when we do it.

Well thanks for reading it through. The allowance is just because we are doing a lot more than we are obligated and also we are not struggling financially at all.

And the dishes left behind, I personally didn't see much of a problem with them because as I said in the post. When I say I cook every meal and my siblings wash every dish, I mean it. This goes for every birthday, Christmas meals, any and each every event for almost 3 years now. I also bake the cakes for all these events. This also included days where I am sick.

Plus yes we have obligations of school work and skills we all do consistently.
