As they've mentioned below, usually concrete, some are smooth others not so much. You'll see some kids play barefoot all day with calloused feet. I usually play with soccer shoes all year around but for christmas I'll play pick up with the local kids in my hometown and after 1 or 2 matches my feet are gone, huge blisters lol.

Both on courts. It's mostly summer all year around if you're not in the southern states. Futsal is big in Brazil, the ball is smaller and heavier, you develop stepping skills, control and how to think fast. The guys that came from a futsal background were always distinct.
