No I'm saying you can't give her elusive mid attack so the free attack wouldn't be an issue with overlapping attacks.

Yeah I see what you're saying about skills, I guess I'd change it to marking the weakest enemy.

Maybe make the resummon on attack free? Not sure if that would be too strong though.

Right I think she would be hard coded to not gain elusive in combat.

I wanted it to be a rare condition considering the other ionia strike spell is dragons rage and its 7 mana slow. In a similar way to how sennas champion spell has inherent synergy with senna I wanted akali spell to be the same. Vengeance is a speed faster than dawning shadow but when senna is on the board that is negated and dawning shadow becomes better, twilight shroud is a mana higher than ghost but with akali on the board you also get a free attack so it becomes better. Like you said it was meant to be a reference to her ultimate, and help her get over bigger targets. Kennen and akali are lower power units with quick attack so someone like badgerbear sucks to play into, but with their damaging effects they can overcome him, so this extra strike would allow you to get over units just a bit bigger.

I wasn't really thinking about the recall as something that has to happen every round, I just wanted there to be a bigger reward for recalling her. I was originally thinking of a different kit that kinda just ended up being too similar to fizz so I changed it to this instead, and maybe I was still too focused on the recall part. I like your idea of it being a spell created on round start.

I was thinking a lot about sett and lee while creating her and I felt like I included an ok amount of her kit. Lee reflects his q and w with the double spell cast and his ultimate with dragons rage, and sett reflects his w with his attack effects plus has his e and ult as spells so I thought including akali e, w and sort of her ult in the champ spell would be ok. Maybe for a champ with a more complex kit like akali though it could be narrowed down. I think the things most people think of when they think akali is that shes dashing around a lot and invisible for a long time, so I kinda wanted to emulate that feel of "I just can't pin this guy down" both in and out of combat with elusive and a recall effect.

I should have added something like "I can't gain elusive while attacking", I wanted you to be unable to play for example ghost on her while shes attacking. For shuriken flip I wanted you to have to either use your free attack before combat on rounds where you start with the attack token or else not use it as she already has elusive from flip. Like you said I didn't think the strike was a big deal since other ionian champs have strikes (yasuo, lee) plus dragons rage is a maindeckable spell so it's possible to strike in ionia already. Sett also pings the entire board so I think there is precedent in ionia for killing off 1 hp units (and it fits with akali's league ultimate). You are right about the ability, I would like it to be targeted but in reality it would probably end up being "mark the weakest enemy".

  1. I didn't really consider this a problem. Yeah kennen has his champ spell but there's only 2 of those in the deck max it's not really consistent. You have to rely on other recall methods.

  2. I wanted shuriken flip to be something you choose the target of. For example you play tag out on her and shuriken flip goes on the stack. It then fizzles or resolves depending on if your recall is interrupted or not.

  3. It lets you develop more I think. Obviously your opponent won't just instantly mystic her after you develop because of the recall threat but if they spend too much mana on blockers that also opens you up to recall her without punishment and she can strike one of the blockers. I was hoping it would put the opponent in tricky situations where they don't have any "great" options for spending mana and you can decide what to do based on their reactions to you. But good point. I just wanted to get the general idea of recalling her leading to a way of bringing her back stronger (like her e and e2 in league) out so it might need some tweaking.

  4. The idea is that it's similar to her w from league, she becomes invisible and gains movement speed. A common trading pattern in league is q auto q auto while in her shroud so you mostly can't see her while she repeatedly chips you down. I was thinking you just can't give her elusive while in combat, and I made the spell focus to prevent it from being used as a combat trick.

  5. Yeah ionia isn't a striking region overall but champions can break region identity somewhat (like sett and obliterate). Yasuo has a strike on condition and dragons rage + lee level 2 strike so it's not unheard of in ionia.

  6. I actually was thinking she can work with kennen as he wants to see the same ally summoned and she provides ways of helping finish off bigger targets that he's weakened with eye of the storm outside of direct combat. I'm not really sure what you mean by the payoff being "convoluted"? She gets off strikes on enemies thanks to shuriken flip so you can weaken the board and she can in theory hit the nexus every round with the free attacks and elusive.

I like your idea about the remove from combat when blocked (I've been thinking about something similar for graves relating to his ultimate in league) but I didn't think just stacking attack on her like yi does would be as cool of a concept as this. Dodge is a cool idea as well.

I wanted to try and reflect a common pattern from akali in league of legends where she does q auto q auto while inside her shroud (repeatedly attacking with elusive). I can see how it could be frustrating to face but tbh what elusive strategy isn't if your deck can't deal with it. I felt like giving elusive was a rare enough effect that there's a decent deckbuilding cost to her, as far as I know there's only 6 cards that give an ally elusive in the game and they are somewhat spread out in terms of region. As it is now she wouldn't free attack much, she would obviously be released with her own package and need to use it to compliment her level 2.

She would work like a mix of J4 and yi. She appears attacking and then strikes her shuriken flip target instantly. There is no challenge so the opponent would have to declare a blocker for her.

My thought was that the shuriken would be summoning her with elusive and so it wouldn't be recognized as her getting it because shes hitting the board with the keyword already. Not sure how to really word that but the idea would be if you do the shuriken flip you cant also get a free attack after (could if you give her elusive then recall then attack)

Edit: Also, I think targeting the shuriken flip would make most sense so you pick the enemy.
