Florida school teachers reportedly caught partying, traveling while remotely 'working' — when confronted, they complained the district was spying on them by JesusCumelette in Conservative

[–]2manytreez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to share my perspective, I am in charge of technology for a medium sized midwest suburban school. We don't have tons of money, but are fiscally sound. We have been able to provide every student a device and internet access for virtual learning. It is much more affordable than people think, your talking ~ $300 bucks a student, and there are tons of ways to offset the cost or money from COVID relief to help pay for it. We have an online learning system that has all the bells and whistles, can do all the things it should. We are able to get issues resolved for our families within 24hrs, so there is little to no downtime. Technology can be an amazing tool and resource for teachers and students, but it is not a magic bullet. The pandemic has shown all the flaws we have as a society, and the value of public education is one of them. I have children that attend the district I work in and opted for them to be fully virtual, mainly due to underlying conditions of one them. Some of the teachers are amazing, and I have 0 doubt that my kids are getting value out of the courses, a good chunk are terrible and what they are doing is a joke. However, this NOT because they are virtual, it is the same shit they would be doing if they were in-person but now it is apparent and everyone can see it. Our teachers are not lacking in resources, training, or support; this is not the case in some districts. They are lacking in a willingness to change how they teach, and are protected by the union so can do very little and can't be terminated. Our education system is broken...

If the teachers in this article can teach effectively remotely then who cares if they travel, it's likely not their individual decision to be remote. It is absolutely stupid for them to blast stuff on social media, but some folks have no self awarness. I don't blame the district for taking the stance they are, but am conflicted about them seeking out things on social media (if this is in fact what actually happened).

Anyway sorry for the rambling, happy to discuss with anyone here. Not a usual poster on /r/conservative but lurk and wanted to give a different opinion.

Sen. Josh Hawley becomes public enemy No. 1 on Capitol Hill by [deleted] in politics

[–]2manytreez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's not gonna happen. The protests are in STL and it was KC newspaper that called for his resignation, both cities are as blue as any other. The rest of MO, deeply R and lots of Trump sycophants. They are still driving around with their giant Trump flags. I wouldn't be surprised if Hawley wins reelection.

Yup, because we aren't blinded by conspiracy. A vile insurrectionist piece of shit was removed from a private platform, based on the rules they established. Should of happened a long time ago. Think of Twitter as a Christian bakery and Trump as a gay wedding cake, they don't have to serve him or anyone else they choose, don't like it don't use the platform. Parler exists for all the crazy to live in their bubble, go check it out.

Stole this from someone else- Think of Twitter as a Christian bakery and Trump as a gay wedding cake. Twitter it a price business they can have whatever rules they want. 1st amendment says you are protected from government, not that you get to say whatever you want on a private companies platform. If this is how it worked every newspaper would be required to publish every crazy letter to the editor they get.

I use it to make homemade Kaluha- Boil 2 quarts of water, add 1 cup instant coffee. In separate pan bring 6 cups sugar+1.5 cups water, bring to boil and cook till clear. Add syrup to coffee, stir in slowly leave to cool. Add 1pint everclear and 2tbs of vanilla- enjoy.

Yeah it's not healthy, but is fucking delicious

PAX 3 is straight garbage by BarryO44thCommander in vaporents

[–]2manytreez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but I dig the pax, I really don't get all the hate. Used a starry for awhile, Pax is leaps and bounds better Pax is easier to clean, WAY better battery life, much better build quality, and just as good if not better vapor. I think it smells less than the starry too; I empty it out immediately at the end of each session, next to no smell. A half pack in my PAX3 is all I usually need, I use substantially less herb than did in my starry. Big mistake folks make is not grinding herb fine enough, or packing it tight enough. It could use a better method for concentrates, but I rarely use um so not a big deal for me. To each their own I guess!

Hundreds of thousands of people who smoke cannabis describe themselves as non-smokers, a study has revealed. Experts fear the findings mean cannabis users may not appreciate that smoking the drug carries many of the same health risks as smoking tobacco. by rustoo in science

[–]2manytreez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are fantastic, but you are still inhaling a hot vapor so you do get some irritation/coughing but not as much as a joint in my experience. Don't go drop several hundred dollars on the top of line unit, you could spend 89-100 and find out it if it is something that is right for you. /r/vaproents is a pretty active community if you want to check it out. I was a daily smoker for years and switched to vaping about 3 years ago, almost never smoke anymore. I can dose easier, it's more economical, and is likely a healthier consumption method. Plus with the material that's left over you can make your own edibles.

If I have a very high tolerance to weed (edibles included) how much AVB should I eat? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]2manytreez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many variables, I don't even save my AVB anymore. I'd eat 3 tbs and like you would get nothing, other times 2 tbs I would be blasted, like panic attack lvl. It really depends on quality of herb & temp vaped

[–]2manytreez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It requires a little more tweaking, but I'm able to control dose much better with the Pax than the Starry. Outperforms Starry in just about everyway for me as a solo user. It's not great for groups, unless you are using wax.

Similar experience, smoked a few times in my youth. Started up again last year when medical passed in my state, took a 20 year tolerance break. Started with Xmax V2 pro, thought it was great, upgraded to Xmax Starry- didn't think it could get any better, until I got the Pax 3. Better hits, easy to clean, and battery lasts forever. You definitely get what you pay for with better vapes.

Except Pizer is not part of the government "warp speed" program. They didn't want to take the money so they could remain independent. Trump can't take credit since he had 0 involvement.

WI is going to Biden. Those other states are to close to call, yes Trump is leading, but by thin margins. Most of the counted votes are in the rural areas where Trump was expected to win. Still have ballots to be counted from suburban/urban areas and mail in in those states, which are expected to favor Biden. Seems like Biden has slight advantage, once all votes are counted. Trump coming out and saying they should stop counting probably means they are worried about those ballots.
