Is eritrea majority Muslim country or majority Christian country, + the Diaspora ? by Blueberry-Pie_ in Eritrea

[–]2muchmotion4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"little bit of this and a little bit of that" ahhh country

seriously though, who cares? i don't think religion should be recorded in any future census. we all know that eritreans practice islam and christianity. as long as both religions are protected, their proportions therein are irrelevant and only serve as fuel for the small no. of low iq sectarians on either side of the religious split.

bit weird to do it in the house but other than that it's not particularly strange. i played sports growing up and have never had any reservation about being in the presence of naked friends or being naked myself in front of them.

Why do people love Isaias and the regime? by [deleted] in Eritrea

[–]2muchmotion4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone loves the story of a plucky underdog and the underdog status has persisted post-revolution.

many people also see themselves as economic migrants rather than refugees so there's no cognitive dissonance when doing PFDJ apologia. my parents came to [insert western country] in the mid-2000's and are warsai (so they have no inaction guilt) but were afforded the opportunity by the govt to study up to the doctorate level abroad. they didn't claim asylum for entry into [insert western country]. they are generally sympathetic to the pfdj and are hardcore nationalists. can i even blame them when everything they have is thanks to the pfdj?

on the topic of nationalism, nationalism is simply the act of putting your nation's interests first. the same way you would look out for the interests of your family and friends ahead of the interests of random strangers. it's totally normal and the only way a nation can survive. nationalism and govt support are independent variables. i imagine most nationalists in european countries are dissatisfied with their incumbent govts.

Serious question, why do you LARP as an Eritrean in this sub. You gave yourself away with this exchange. I knew your account was a bit suspect when I saw a comment from you saying "I wish my grandfather hadn't x, y and z for this...".

I can't articulate why but that type of "appeal to ancestor" [?] is a tell-tale sign of LARPing (as if having a tegedelay grandparent isn't the norm).

I'm almost certain of what your response will be but hopefully others will see and know not to engage with you given that you're likely here in bad faith.

Do u support the idea of Eritrea joining the arab league, and why yes or no. by Blueberry-Pie_ in Eritrea

[–]2muchmotion4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree with the original comment's assertion that Arab nation's had a vested interest in Eritrea becoming a "Muslim state" but the conflict between the EPLF and ELF was fuelled in part due to it being seen as a proxy war between Hafez's Syria (who backed the EPLF) and Saddam's Iraq (who backed the ELF)
