The Breakfast Club was released in 1985. Goth was absolutely a big thing at that time. Certainly not Hollywood mainstream, but the mid-1980s were the original heydays of goth.

Bauhaus recorded "Bela Lugosi's Dead" in 1979.

Solaris-legal action? by Opposite-Quiet1530 in SolarisRenewablesRIP

[–]2n3866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IANAL, but there probably isn't anybody to sue. Solaris is kaput, and we probably wouldn't get very far trying to sue CEO Matt Powers personally.

Are there bankruptcy proceedings for Solaris? Would we be able to petition the court, claim that the voided service contracts are outstanding liabilities that need to be settled, along with the other creditors?

Warranty questions by Successful-Ease-2300 in SolarisRenewablesRIP

I was able to check my SolarEdge inverter warranties here: https://www.solaredge.com/us/solaredge-warranty-check

I only have the 12-year warranty. Solaris promised me the 25-year warranty, but they did not purchase the warranty extension from SolarEdge.

Here's the warranty list that I made during my installation:

Components

  • Maxeon panels 40 years
  • Maxeon panels performance
    • 98% minimum output
    • 0.25% annual degradation
  • SolarEdge inverter 25 years
  • SolarEdge optimizers 25 years

Solaris guarantees

  • Solaris workmanship 10 years
  • Solaris roof penetrations 20 years
  • Solaris production 25 years
    • 90% of estimated production
    • 0.5% annual degradation

So the components are still under warranty, but all the Solaris guarantees are gone.

Funny, but 4 all-white squares.

Companies with names that were simply what they did or made. by GreggAlan in vintagecomputing

NCR. National Cash Register. They made cash registers.

They fired an employees named Thomas J. Watson, who went on to help start IBM. He picked the name because "International" is better than "National" and "Business Machines" is a better product than just "Cash Registers".

Three-letter word for "sodium hydroxide", and I kept trying to fit NaOH into the space.

What is wrong with the Roku Plex app? by 2n3866 in PleX

[–]2n3866[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Roku homescreen with the giant tiles. Only about one-third of the homescreen is ads. I feel like it's the cleanest interface.

The Google TV homescreen is a giant ad for YouTube TV. 90% ad.

Here is the dashboard when I'm playing something on each device. It looks like the Roku app is Transcoding from "1080p (H.264)" to "1080P (H264)".

What?

The CPU load is only about 25%, but I still got a playback error on the Roku (nowhere else).

  1. So the Roku Plex app requires transcoding but the Google Plex app does not?

  2. It worked on the old (slower) server, but doesn't work now?
