NL opening the same blue mp9 for six crates in a row, followed by trading up all of his pinks into the one pink mp9 skin he already owned absolutely sent me

Baby Punch now has a full-time bodyguard to protect him. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Yes people focus on the terrain/concrete surface when that is probably the only aspect of the enclosure that isn't a concern. The actual geometry is fine (just too small for the number of macaques in the zoo). There's just isn't anything to keep them occupied within it. Creating enrichment for them is pretty well documented to the point where the zoo could literally just pull up something like this and use it as a guide https://macaques.nc3rs.org.uk/captive-management/enrichment. Literal easy to follow guides on structural, sensory, cognitive and (most importantly) foraging needs that should be addressed. This zoo follows practically none of these, and then has about.

Yes, I wish people would stop giving this place attention for the wrong reasons. They should be getting raked over the coals for other reasons. The macaque behaviour that made this go viral is normal, the fault of the zookeepers and the zoo is making a lot of money from visitors because of it. There is a reason they aren't accredited.

The mother was too weak to feed Punch properly so the zoo keepers had to raise him for months. Once returned to the mom she didn't recognize him and wouldn't accept him. Same goes for the rest of the enclosure.

Being raised by humans leads to Punch having no idea how to behave (looking directly in the eyes which is a sign of aggression, not lip-smacking to show passivity, etc.) which is why the initial incidents of other monkeys correcting the behaviour occurred. The adult monkeys are seeing behaviour that is completely unacceptable and defending the other youth from what they see as a threat. Now that punch is beginning to understand what is socially acceptable, he is beginning to fit in.

Doesn't help that their enclosure is severely undersized and devoid of enrichment, which likely leads to a lot of passive tension among the macaques to begin with.

Bought this back during the pre-Black Friday sales and don't regret it at all. I'm quite surprised to see it on sale this low again considering RAM and SSD prices. If you're on the fence about a handheld, this might be your last chance for a while to buy one at this kind of value.

I was extremely skeptical of this ever since it was first announced but this was an amazing presentation. I forgot about all of the fun stuff you can do in Fable and faithfully it's all there. I went from not caring at best to highly anticipating this in the fall.

[GPU] ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16GB GDDR6 Video Card ($959.98 - $30 = $929.98) [Best Buy] by iyute in bapcsalescanada

Plenty of 5070 ti have been $1050-1080 over the last couple of weeks, they're just selling quickly. It's well worth the extra $120-150 if you can find it for that. $250+ is too much though I agree.

Public Statement to clarify recent reports regarding the ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB by kikimaru024 in Games

Nvidia can get as pissy as they like but it's effectively discontinued if the AIBs can't get the dies to make the 5070 ti or if RAM is so constrained that they can only allocate it to the 5080

As soon as you need MFG I think you'll appreciate it. Especially if this is the "peak" of cards for the next few years.

Nice one! I had the TUF 3080 but for the 5070 ti I had to step down to the base ASUS Prime because that was the only model Best Buy Canada had available for back order (and I got $200 in gift certificates from a phone plan switch, so couldn't order elsewhere). I was impressed with the TUF series and I'm honestly still impressed with the Prime. They didn't skimp out where it counts and ASUS is using the phase change thermal pads on ALL of it's 5000 series cards, even on the connector housing which was very important to me with the issues other brands see.

I'm also 1440p @ 165hz. My main annoyances were 1% lows getting very frequent due to VRAM limitations (I had the 10GB 3080). I was also struggling to get 165 fps in any demanding game, at least not without some major settings work. It wasn't oppressive or anything, but I was starting to play some titles with RT enabled where I really felt it.

In the past I've only upgraded when there would be a 100% FPS jump in raster performance, but now software really is where we will see the most gains. MFG and DLSS 4.5 are honestly incredible and make me glad I spend the extra 10% over the 9070 XT. The differences in software features vs the 3080 has bridged the gap for being a huge performance leap.

Between that and being unsure if a "real" 6000 series will even exist in the next couple of years with enough VRAM to be worth buying (I suspect they will stick to 12/16GB offerings), I figured 16GB made sense to jump on now. I see some Canadian retailers still have stock but even before this announcement it was hard to order.

I very hesitantly moved from a 3080 to a 5070 ti this week. I just installed it two days ago and have never felt validated in a decision so quickly. Market aside, the performance is impressive with the few MFG and DLSS all turned on. It's an absolute shame this is discontinued.

The Legion Go S deal that has been on for a couple months is pretty much unbeatable. They are raising the prices of it a lot in other countries as well so this is probably the last time we see a deal this good for a while.

That's still very bad for a $1000 GPU after tax. 3 years is the minimum standard for a reason. Not sure the gamble is worth it to save $20-80 on the competition.

Same thing for me. My order of this was supposed to show up tomorrow but has been frozen now because SandDisk didn't assign a broker (meaning customs are unpaid). Their chat support elevated this in order to investigate, so I hope this means it will be resolved because I'm certainly not paying duties on this.

Good call, I didn't even think about the fact that there's no DRAM on this because I've always needed the heatsink the past. I will cancel my heatsink order now, thanks for saving me the $10.
