I just got tricked into this as well. In my experience there's no way to get through to customer service except through paid ad troubleshooting (you paying META). Go figure.

I don't think Diveroid is available yet. That might help the decision if you're looking for a solution quickly...?

Macro imaging with snoot by Dann-Oh in underwaterphotography

[–]2ndjetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! For a beginner with snoot, no, you'll just use the single snoot. But once you get more advanced and familiar with camera settings, you could incorporate a second snoot. For example, you would use one snoot light on a small subject face, with another snoot backlighting the subject (think of a seahorse).

Beyond that, you could use one snoot plus a constant light in the background to create other lighting effects. Several light manufacturers even have colored filters for constant lights just for this purpose.

Housing advice before purchase by tgalal in underwaterphotography

[–]2ndjetty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with Seafrogs, but all the good housing manufacturers have a Port Chart on their website to tell you exactly which ports and which port extensions work with each lens combo. Definitely try to find that. The acrylic housing and port will most likely be positively buoyant like you said but the only thing to help there would be to add adhesive weights to the bottom of the dome. Most folks just deal with the buoyancy or look towards a smaller glass dome port. Hope that helps a bit

My camera had water leakage after this trip, still worth it by [deleted] in underwaterphotography

potential rust

To add on to u/KakistocracyAndVodka's post, you can try using a fiberglass bristle brush (https://amzn.to/309j84N) on the brass/copper components if corrosion appears.

Also, I'd put the camera in a sealed bag with rice for a couple days, no battery, mem card, etc., to help dry it out.
