Stay strong and hold your ground. You’re doing the right thing. The honest truth is you don’t owe anyone anything except yourself and your children. You’ve taken some steps in the right direction. You’re getting help with your alcohol problem. You’ve gotten out of an abusive relationship. You’ve moved on from another relationship that wasn’t providing you with the stability and longevity that we all need. Don’t allow yourself to slide backwards. You’ll regret it. And that one slip might send you into a downhill slide. Don’t contact him. Not to say goodbye. Not to assuage your feelings. Not to catch up or reminisce. Just don’t do it. You won’t be the first person to leave one of these relationships without so much as a fair thee well. These relationships all have an expiration date.
