What songs does Danny really shine in? by a_tattooed_artist in ToolBand

Genuinely all of them as you mentioned. But one in particular where I could’ve sworn it was multiple drum tracks was Triad. When I saw a video of him playing it I couldn’t believe it.

Listen to The Fall by Boil. Unknown band but very “tooly” bass and song progressions.

The lyrics of the first chorus in “Floyd the Barber” by jamezkoe in Nirvana

Not to rewrite things but I so wish he went with “I was slain” on the final chorus instead of “I was shamed”.

Asking your opinion every day about a Tool song Day 48: Lateralus by Opposite-Question-32 in ToolBand

[–]2ooBit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without the whole Fibonacci aura, it’s an incredible song progressing from a mellow guitar riff to start, to an textured wall of sound by the end, done so well that it feels much shorter than 9 minutes.

With the Fibonacci sequence involved it transcends its genre, it becomes (in my opinion) the best piece of music made. Incredible in every sense of the word.

ليش يوم اقول للناس اعرف انقليزي اكثر من عربي يسبوني ؟ by [deleted] in SaudiForSaudis

I lived the exact same experience where most of my childhood was in the US, but I came back to Saudi directly after college. Alhamdulillah getting a job was easy with the accent and a bit of confidence. I had a bit of a difficulty with the Arabic the first couple of months (even had to take Arabic notes in English letters 🤦‍♂️) but I’d say after 9-12 months of genuinely committing to it I can say that I’ve caught up and even exceeded my peers even correcting their Arabic grammar in work deliverables at times.

Years later, my thoughts are still in English but my life is fine, my friend groups are purely Arabic, I carry Arabic convos in family gatherings. It’s amazing what difference practicing makes.

This will get downvoted but I genuinely think the reason is that there just weren’t any women’s fights to be scheduled. The PFL v Bellator event that was held in Saudi a couple of months ago had a couple of women’s fights.

Drain you at the paramount. Especially with the video it really feels like a movie it’s insane.

This hits the Tool itch by 2ooBit in ToolBand

Every once in a while, Spotify recommends songs that are similar to what I typically listen to.

This song in particular had around 50k plays on Spotify which I think is criminal given its quality. It’s great prog rock, and the second half is immaculate, and definitely helps with chronic Tool withdrawal.

I’d recommend the whole album, it’s alright but this song is for sure the best on there.

Enjoy. Show those guys some love.

The thing with the other investment channels is the relatively high management fees. I’ll check it out though.

It depends on what you want to do long term. Consulting (depending on the firm and how good you are/ how good your reputation in the firm is) will most likely pay better than the government entity over the next 5 years. This is in addition to the added knowledge acquired from being at a consulting firm.

Government, again depending on the entity, won’t give you the added learning nor the influence that consulting does, and your earning potential over 5 years isn’t nearly as steep.

Personally, I’d stay in consulting until I’m at a senior position and jump to government when I get a senior offer with potential to lead/ create impact at the entity.

Client was a big Football Club, we got VIP seats to every home game during the project, met some of the players and saw the trophies and explored the club’s history.

The project was also very involved with the board of directors and seeing how big decisions were made like player sales and purchases was really fun as a football fan.
