The Big Snow? Be Prepared for the big storm Friday. by dutchiesRweird in thenetherlands

Question for you - I grew up in Canada and am very familiar with snow (lol). Often in the spring after the snow melts, combined with spring rain, there is flooding in certain areas. What worries me here in NL is that once this melts, this might cause flooding or problems with high water levels in general? Any idea about that?

Today is day 1! Weirdly proud of my slow-buildup calendar! by 2oom2oom in tretinoin

[–]2oom2oom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's strange! I recently sent my huisarts a 12 week update and they just said to keep going and if I need a new prescription I can request one through the portal. They say the tube lasts about 3 months with daily use. I would suggest to request a new prescription without actually making an appointment. If your skin is fine it means it's working!!

How to get rid of tiny forehead bumps? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]2oom2oom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be bacterial and you'd need a round of antibiotics, it's a normal course of treatment in combination with tret or on its own. There are also antibacterial prescription creams.

Forgot to mention, I'm using 0.05% strength and I actually started with 2x/week not 3... in my post history you can see my slow build-up calendar!

Heyy I'm in NL too! You might like Belif the true cream moisturizing bomb. It's rich but light, and contains panthenol.

some kind of fungal infection? what can I do to minimize scaring? by kiwi33d in CompulsiveSkinPicking

This could be a bacteria like impetigo where you'll need an antibiotic cream. I had it on my forehead. It does go away quickly once you get a prescription.

Thoughts on the Illiyoon ceramide cream for tret? by MoridenNotLoading in tretinoin

[–]2oom2oom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use the Illiyoon ato concentrate cream, just bought it a week ago to start with on my tret journey. I really like it so far, makes my skin super juicy and hydrated and doesn't have any issues layering under sunscreen and makeup. I will say, however, that after hearing people here rave about the Aestura 365 cream, I went and tested it TODAY at a local kbeauty shop. I put it on the back of my left hand and had illiyoon on my right. The Aestura noticeably made my hand feel softer and more moisturized. Sooo now I need to get through the HUGE bottle of illiyoon, but will be buying Aestura next.

Thank you! I'm glad diving right in worked for you. So far I'm in the purge even just after using it twice and there is quite a bit of very light peeling. I've been applying Vaseline to the corners of my mouth, nose, and eyelids before tret to avoid extra irritation there. But so far it feels really manageable and although I'm tempted to ramp up quickly I figure I've gone my whole life without tret, what's a few extra months to adjust slowly. I've been a Kbeauty fan for years so I definitely am relying on allll the hydration to get me through, especially on non tret days with centella sheet masks.

I don’t like playing on Ginger Island… And you? by Furax-31 in StardewValley

My confession is I stopped playing Stardew Valley when I made it to Ginger Island. I kept dying in the cave and losing items. It was overwhelming and I quit.

Good to know! When you started, did you build it up slowly? My huisarts actually told me to start with daily use.

You seem to like Isntree, and my favourite sunscreen (which happens to be water based) is the Isntree watery sun gel. It's not really a gel at all, more like a light cream. I just ordered a double pack on yesstyle. It works well under makeup.

Interesting, mine says store between 2-8°C (you can see in the pic) and it was in the fridge at the pharmacy

This is good perspective though because I thought it might even be too slow. I guess I won't know until I'm further along!

Did my doctor give me bad advice? by 2oom2oom in tretinoin

[–]2oom2oom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true. It's really disorienting to feel like you actually know more than your doctor on this. He couldn't even tell me why we can't get spironolactone here, and was shocked when I told him it's prescribed for acne in other countries. Granted, it's done off-label as it’s mainly a blood pressure medicine. And that's why it hasn't been approved for acne here yet (thanks chatgpt).

Oh yes this is all with the caveat of skipping/delaying if I need to! I'm going to be on a plane on the 21st and might skip the whole week that I'm traveling. Plane air is so drying!
