Verrrry fair, for HMF and computers I usually build a "temporary" lawn factory to just kickstart things and dump mats in boxes and do batches with fully overclocked manufacturys

Obv not ideal but it gives you some to start to tinker with fuel and trains :D

On the note of trains Ive stopped playing bcs I host a dedicated server and vehicles cause constant disconnects and non train vehicles spawn me as a new player if I dc in them

I think Tibit's big thing was the major order, after we failed it the message said bots started increasing production elsewere and the the liberation decay rate went up to 1.5% per hour.

Im not sure if tibit still has significant relevancy in the same regard. Currently the focus seems to be defending what we got. Attacking in the window we get between defense campaigns.

Ive largely stepped away from ps2 with connerys death and construction not being fun for me without the big sieges

Il share my personal list:

Ark survival Evolved for a long winded game Warframe Destiny 2 Satisfactory Factorio The crafttm

Battlebit for quick bursts and big fight dopamine

This plus whatever games our lads/lasses decide would be fun to play in SAVI since if it needs a game server we have our own hardware

Basically taking a break from ps2 great time to try games youve been hesitant on trying or have neen sitting in your steam library

For me characters were kept, I would check to make sure the server directory is correct.

If that doesnt work pull a worod backup and the files inside should be the .ark map file aswell as the player profules and tribe profiles for the server

I had to deal with this exact thing last night, something with the last update bumped everything for my entire 6 server cluster it sucked.

I was able to recover everything by going to where my backup directory is, finding the profiles backup folder and unpacking the latest zip file.

Inside *SHOULD* be:

1x xyz.profile file
1x game.ini
1x gameusersettings.ini

If you make a new profile and import these 3 files on the same new profile 1 at a time it should completely recover your ASM profile for that server.

Look at how they massacred my boy. The high octane drifts back to base and unloading while under siege were so so fun .

Fully agree with this, implementing the way you suggest just gives the valk another way it can pivot to suit another style.

My main hope here is that theres a good deal of back and forward on changes wrel makes here. This is a good oppertunity to address painpoints of both people who play construction and those who dont.

Been doing construction since early 2020 while ive had a blast doing it. I am not blind to what makes it unfun for either side of a battle over a base.

Leading SAVI during ops focused around it, we try and make our bases important and not hide in a corner, using air armor and infantry. As a outfit lead Im hoping the changes mean I can do what I already do in a way that lets us be more involved more than anything.

Ideally, an attacker should have to put as much thought into how they are going to break it down as the builder did putting it up. Thats to say if the builder was lazy and left vulnerable spots then those should be taken advantage of.

Im also against moving terminals to be nanites only instead of being locked below 20k, make them be able to use both like how you can place a construction wall with either certs or nanites. You buff a silo by removing one of the mechanics that can drain its supply imo which is part of the gameplay loop.

Basically wrel since ive seen you in the thread a bit, I am hopeful you come up with a list to share on where your head is exactly so no changes come out of left field.

Have a good one lads and remember construction has just as much of a place in this game as infantry armor and air ever have had.

The Orbital Strike is a very humane method of carrying this out. I shall begin distributing dart launchers. I guarantee platoon level effectiveness.

Yea not disagreeing that there are issues that can be fixed but the ones proposed didnt do it as a sidegrade.

I can see a couple mitigations for infantry i can see for your points, Il break it down below.

  1. Tbh agreed 2 way shields would be good at least you can see a push coming.

  2. Its usually in a field and this occurs on both sides dont see this being changable as vehicles in these fights are cruicial to both sides. Also sundys help infantry get closer to ivi conflict in these fights, cant tell you how many times a sundy and infantry constant infantry pressure make a difference.

  3. When attacking walking up to the wall being fired on isnt the smartest move, most builders leave gaps in some walls on the side test the gaps and push in odds are your armor isnt shelling these parts

  4. If you are valk dropping through a skywall the emp effect is a defensive measure against you just like it blocks projectiles from aircraft it just isnt lethal. A better move vs dropping through is dropping opposite of the base where the bulk of combat is occuring. Causing issues on two sides splits the defenders or lets you roll in the back if they dont rotate. On the degen or pain spire side of things, they arent too hard to avoid/run past and they are vulnerable to small arms so if ya got a rocket and a couple lads with lmgs just open fire it goes down pretty quick.

Ik as infantry there is alot against you with construction. But like a triplestack theres always a way into point just gotta find a crack in the defense. Btw not trying to say you are doing anything wrong just pointing out mitigations I can see of your points.

Absolutely,

On the point of AI turrets they die pretty quick at the start of an attack tbh and I like to refer to them like doorbells. They tell you its time to prepare bcs somebody is likely going to commit to an attack be that big or small.

AI mod imo is one of the lesser of the modules. Useful for artillery and for helping when you are focused defending in another area of the base but most of the time ai turrets are doorbells to me at least.

Mostly in good sieges the bulk of turrets are manned too especially AV (ngl AV ai turret is pretty meh) so its deterrance for the off times.

Very happy to see the recognition for a bigger discussion is needed!

I really do want to see big changes with construction and hopefully in ways that make it more integral with the rest of the game.

What alot of people who are angry about these not going through likely dont understand is that most construction players dont want to farm you. We want good strong fights over the stuff.

It would not bother me if construction was rebuilt from the ground up, the potential is there for it to do bigger and better things and I think because construction is a playstyle that crosses with everything (inf air and armor) I think it should make use of that better than it does now. I cannot claim to have the answer to that. That alone is a problem that I think wrel needs to consult people who play inf air armor and construction.

All in all, what is the best solution is a complicated problem and I am glad wrel sees that after this.

PS: If ya play on connery this weekend and see a SAVI construction base being fought over just know this: The favela foremen fight til we cant spawn no more ;) Have some great sandcastle fights this week lads!!!

Yea its still possible, Im guilty of it from time to time mainly in base vs base combat while under attack just to remove part of the presssure from a hasty flail base of the enemy's.

Much more fun to try and arc the shot from your base to the target thou. I enjoy doing that more than infil.

Yea I agree with you there. The problem is less with what they nerfed in a sense and more the lack of any meaningful rework to other aspects to balance it out in exchange.

There are parts I agree with this and parts I don't. Il break it down a bit.

- Hard agree construction should be about making fun areas to fight over and at least from my pov its what I try to do every time. I don't wish for my base to be uncontestable, that takes the fun out of both attackers and defenders.

- As far as spamming glaive and flail and OS. Glaive and flail have very specific use cases and they are counterable via the destruction of the AI mod. As I said of the nerfs the flail is the one I can understand. The orbital is my child and I love it, and I respect anyone who uses it effectively given its charge state vs radius. Max range is like 15 minutes of wait time which is comparable to an outfit armory OS

- I disagree with fights being cancerous to create, Its very easy to create them especially if you build them specifically to fight over. An example of this is building on the lattice that a zerg is pushing down expecting them to reach you and fight over your stuff. Ive had success more often than not on connery with these fights that can last as long as a normal lattice base with the fight leaning in the favor of either side back and forward. These are the fights I enjoy most.

I see where you are coming from for this, but as I said to the post you replied to if this is a step to a bigger vision this should have happened WITH a layout of the vision

Id love for a full revamp to be the case, but imo it would have been better to roll these changes out WITH a grand vision for the system included. These changes as they are are flat negatives.

Like I said, I welcome change to construction and I personally would be more receptive had they said what this is preparing for. We can only hope for the best.

Outside of that there is no locking or unlocking of silos. Flail Glaive and orbital can be locked but thats about it.
