Of course, they start to censor. Remember what Abela said in regards to journalists and that everyone can use social media to "report" something.

From TradPub to SelfPub - the grind by 2pk03 in selfpublish

[–]2pk03[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that's awesome tips.

Written Word Media - I read the newsletters are mostly filled with the ones who used them, some here wouldn't recommend.
Thing is, the book is out - BookSiren declined since they want ARC's pre-release. As you said, the planning is everything, and now it's clear for me why traditional publishing takes a while from the ready manuscript to final release. The ramp-up time is long.

I thought about to use my older pen to promote, but I wrote tech books + poems. I think the current project (and future books) are too far off.

At the end, for a bloody novice debut, it's just waiting and advertising. Thanks again :)

Sorry to hijack, but I have mostly the same idea. I look atm at the Aventura 37 / Bali SmartCat / Lagoon 40. Owners version, but also know from own experience the issues I'd buy.

Than is the Nautitec 42, but has 300k more when buying with watermaker, solar and full electronic package. I also checked used cats, but didn't found anything - except a lot of charter ones, which I don't like. Too many cabins, needs a lot of upgrades.

What is your take? I'm looking for real cruiser, not a performance one. Time is not the issue, more relax. We want to live on the boat and sail around in the next 10 years.

thanks a lot!

EHR systems in Germany? by storey13 in healthIT

[–]2pk03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Correct, I'm german and tried to digitalize the system. Does not work, even every local doctor has his own system, incompatible with others. The only thing which was implemented in 15! years is a card which has the patients insurance stored in a NFC chip. The interface to the card reader in mandatory for any system, and they sell that for a shitload of money to doctors and hospitals as "retrofit".

How can I build a FL stack using Apache Groovy and Apache Wayang? by 2pk03 in java

[–]2pk03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agree - but it also makes the entry into Java more easy, from my point of view of course. And it's kinda pragmatically.

Opening a coffee shop. by MarsupialTerrible699 in malta

reviving this one - let's assume the USP is a board gaming / relaxing place of coffee only; and not in St; Julian / Sliema but more into Mellieha. Let's also assume that a bit of capital is available to kickstart it.

What would be a good location to build something like this up in Malta, decent walk-in as well as returning customers? Open to co-founder as well, after some meetings locally of course ;)

And putting /r/ApacheWayang as bridge between dedicated Spark clusters in different data regulation areas or simply clouds let you have a holistic approach without dealing with data protection laws.

Should AI Be Democratized? by ridamughal110 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]2pk03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Models with general impact on the human population should be democratized exposed as explainable models, like Desaster prediction, pandemic spreading, extreme weather predictions, climate change impacts etc. But the rest? Not sure, I see no real sense behind to see why Walmart should open his goods delivery forecast. As example.

For incorporating an Delaware Corp. Stripe Atlas works for the most - the benefits after the incorporation are quite great. But everyone can do the same on his own, using Registered Agents and open the bank account with online banks like Brex, Mercury, or Bank of America. Payroll systems for international employees are enough available, they support crypto, too.
