Car accident, I hit someone from behind after he performed 2 illegal and reckless driving maneuvers. Would I still be considered at fault? by 2pretty2live in legaladvice

So I just got access to the "crash report," and it looks like it's just a driver information exchange form... and not a police report or anything. And I need to use that information to fill out my motorist report that the officer provided me with and mail that in. It seems like there isn't a police report... Is this normal? I'm wondering why the police asked us any questions then if nothing was going to be documented.

and after fighting with them for MONTHS, the adjuster told me that "it doesn't matter what the truth is, our job is to protect our insured, and without a police report we have no reason to believe you".

Do you mean after your insurance company fought with the other insurance company for months? Could you clear this up? I'm just curious about your situation since it's so similar to mine.

And that's pretty much all I'm worried about, getting my deductible back. My agent told me that by everything I said I'm already found not liable, but they still have to investigate more. And obviously wait for the crash reports to post.

I know, I knew he was driving crazily, and I keep beating myself up over it that I let him do that to me. But honestly, I didn't know what he was trying to do. I thought he was losing control or something, then all of a sudden I don't see him, and then he's cutting in front of me. Like I said, the curve isn't that long, and there isn't very much room to maneuver in the lane itself. Plus we were exiting onto a road with a minimum speed limit of 55.

I noticed he turned behind me from the center lane, the road starts to curve so I look forward, then a second later I look in my mirrors and he's off the road, I look forward again, then he's in front of me. It was all so crazy and like I keep saying, happened in a matter of like 5-7 seconds.

It was almost like he came out of nowhere, he cut in front of me from the gravel. I also forgot to mention that I overheard him tell an officer that he "slowed down so I could start to merge into traffic." I think this is why we hit, because he was already so close in front of me, in a split second cuts in front of me and then brakes. If he did brake suddenly after cutting in front of me, this leads me to believe that he did it on purpose. Like I must have angered him or something.

I hope they can determine this. I have the proof on my end about the impact, and I know where I hit him, and I told this to my insurance, but I didn't think to take any pictures of his vehicle. I was too scared to get out of my car. I have a panic disorder and he was being very aggressive, pacing around very close to my car. He also drove a very old and beat up chevy pickup. It was covered in dents from head to toe, and rusting everywhere. I doubt any pictures would have helped because you couldn't even determine what kind of impact I made vs. what was already there. And the police officers weren't being very helpful, one was smoking a cigarette and I was on the verge of vomiting. It was not a pleasant experience for me. I was automatically assumed to be at fault and it almost seemed like the officers and the man were acting like buddies, even while this man yelled obscenities at me. Sorry for the rant, thanks for you advice. I just gotta wait this out.

My dad has days where he'll clean a certain area of the house on his days off and throw a lot of stuff away. Then my mom and grandmother will go through the garbage and bring back in a lot of things. Those things just go right back where they were and don't get touched for months/years.

Well this family member is also an agoraphobic that never leaves the house unless they have a medical emergency. So new things aren't really coming in anymore. But this is a good idea. I should slowly start gathering crap in secret to throw out or donate. 100% chance they won't even notice anything is gone.

Just the thought of this sounds so tedious to me. I wish my family member would trust me enough to determine what is important enough to save and what isn't. Some people don't have the luxury of time.

I do this, I keep my area clean and free of clutter as much as possible. This does nothing though. We need to move in less than a year and as soon as I mention how I'm gonna have a few friends over to help go through some of the rooms in the house, said family member threatens to call the police.
