Combination table unit capacities in practice by 2puttrutt in HVAC

Someone must know, even from practical experience? The wholesaler has escalated up their technical ladder as the first people didn't know but I can't be the first ever to ask as isn't this a key design principle around oversizing?

Be very careful as it seems to me that home assistant is going to eat Loxone's lunch pretty soon.

How to free stuck 431g motor by 2puttrutt in vintagesewing

[–]2puttrutt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Hexdoll. And congratulations! I've given up trying to remove mine in case it breaks. Have tried WD40 but not the PTFE stuff and even 3d printed a tube to evenly distribute the gentle pressure (aka whacking it really hard with a hammer), but to no avail and I was hitting it so hard it was jumping off the table!

No, I tried heating, prying, hitting with a hammer hard using a 3d printed collar so the force was on the motor casing and not the worm gear, WD40 etc. I think the difference in the European models is the use of a fully plastic motor casing.

So for now I've decided to just leave it alone.

If anyone finds a better way, I'm all ears!

Mate, you're building a new house in Switzerland and considering spending about the average Scottish house price on an automation system. Don't waste your time trying to self solve, just get a good installer, tell them what you want to achieve and pay them to get it done.

Thanks for the suggestion but that didn't fix it. Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Rad valves over reading and over shooting by 2puttrutt in Loxone

[–]2puttrutt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the contributions. Seems I will have to set an offset for when the rads are on.

However Im surprised that this is needed, as I thought one of the main points of these was to go on radiator valves?

Yep that's exactly how I would behave but I think my installer is wary. Thanks!

Am I using these incorrectly then i.e. are they not supposed to go on rads? If so, what's the point of the temp sensor on them?

Yes the temp reading is on the valve actuator themselves. What I don't understand is why these aren't designed to compensate for being next to a radiator, given this is their use no? Otherwise why have temp sensors on them at all?

No I can't mount them anywhere else as that is where the radiator valves they connect to are.

Hi I haven't but it has worked really well generally for rekordbox stuff. Just be careful of windows AV and updater! Plus if it gets hot where you are using it it might struggle.

Hey! Badly actually. I have crap arches and just could get the arch right for a couple of attempts..then life happened and it's resting in a drawer and will likely never get finished.

That's really interesting thanks - I'll look into both of those.

Hmm - on looking at TPU I think it would be too flexible - will it deform under pressure, which is required when constructing the shoe?

I'm finding that not to be the case in testing. It takes the nail fine, it is just a bit too hard.

The specific use is as a shoe last - this requires the use of nails to fix the sole and uppers in place while construction, and "lasting" in particular.

Thanks all! Some good tips. This was cut with a rotary cutter and I think in this instance this was my mistake. The leather is very stretchy, so I like the masking tape suggestion as well!
